Why are you deleting the switch_enable_pm_popup from the template? That would cause your confirm box (which replaces the popup) to interrupt the user even if he has unchecked the popup... I noticed you left the switch definition in the php script, even though you removed it from the template....

Also, your find and replaces should be in order... you have the "remove" for the end-switch before the code you are replacing, when it should be after. You are probably better off "replacing" the entire block, including the switches and have them omitted in the replacement code.

Could you make the red background table clickable that will take you to Indbox?

Yes, that's why. The alert box *will* prompt for everyone. So for sure he or she will get it.

Ok, I think the lines should not be deleted since there is an option "Pop up window on new Private Message" in the profile. I left it for if someone wants to re-add the switches in the .tpl he or she can easily put them back.

Yes, sorry, I've updated it.

About the switch_enable_pm_popup switches, I don't know, I think it's better to remove them, for as I've just said, the PM notification alert box will prompt and therefore the user will for sure know about a new PM(s). What do you think?

replace

Code: Select all

<br /><strong>{PRIVATE_MESSAGE_INFO}</strong><br />
with

Code: Select all

<br /><strong><a href="{U_PRIVATEMSGS}" class="pm">{PRIVATE_MESSAGE_INFO}</a></strong><br />
and replace

Code: Select all

.pm { color: #ffffff; background: #d3262a; border: 1px solid #000000; text-decoration: none}
with

Code: Select all

.pm { color: #ffffff; background: #d3262a; border: 1px solid #000000; text-decoration: none}
a.pm {text-decoration: none; color:white; border:0px}
a.pm:hover {text-decoration: none; color:white}
(or however you want)

Well... The whole purpose of having the popup switch in the user Profile is so they can turn off the notification... Especially if they are on a busy board and getting pummeled with PMs every 2 minutes.

I think you are better off leaving the switch in the template so people can turn off the annoyance.

Ok, you're right. MOD version updated :).

NOTE: For those who want to force the PM alert box to show for everyone, delete lines:

In overall_header.tpl if you remove: <noscript> and </noscript> the table with red background will be displayed for both users who have JavaScript disabled or enabled and this is better.

PS: I am looking forward to release this MOD here, I know this is not at all a great MOD but I'm using it and it's very helpful and working great, till now all the PMs sent have been read by users. (before some PMs still unreadable even though users were logged in).

My questions: How do I validate/submit this MOD? I looked here http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/ but couldn't fine out how... :roll:

Did you make a single download for this mod?
Rather a pain to click and copy it and all of these changes and get it right.

I always update the first post for changes. The code in the first post is latest version.
