There's a few more things you can try before I run out of ideas...
  1. Check in the database (if you can)...

    Code: Select all

    SELECT * FROM phpbb_config WHERE config_name LIKE 'modcp_%';
There should be a modcp_levels_used value and also an entry for each of the modules that you have enabled. If modcp_levels_used is not there then insert a blank value with that name then using the disable all the modules and add them back in.
  2. Double check that in the Admin Panel the settings you are creating are being stored.. just make sure that when you return to the moderator cp settings they are as you'd expect.
  3. Download the most recent version of the mod from milk-hub.net and overwrite the modcp directory with the one from the download (just to make sure you didn't get a dodgy download)
Also, I just noticed that I forgot to include the include_once line in the tidied code above, just make sure that line's in there still.

thanks for your efforts Milkman.
the problem is that the Moderator CP text link is not showing in the navigation menu when a member is logged in with moderator privaleges.

I have the text link menu on the right side of my pages - which forced me to put menu coding in the footer rather than the typical header.

could this be the problem?
is there code in your mod that assumes the links to the Moderator CP would be in the header?

This mod installs the link to the footer in the place where the admin panel link goes in a vanilla phpbb install. There is no code available to add the link to the header navigation nor into any custom navigation. Sorry.

While in the Admin Panel when I try to assign "Main Moderator" status to a member I get the following error.
Mod code on the page was done properly - any idea what is triggering the error?

Couldn't delete auth access infoDEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND auth_mod = 0' at line 3

Have you got the User Class mod installed? The only way you should be able to select the MAIN_MOD is when the mod is installed. It looks like the User Class has not been installed correctly and the MAIN_MOD constant has not been defined (or has been defined as blank).

I have been able to get the Moderator CP link to show but when clicked - it doesn't get a moderating member into the Moderator CP. I am using all the latest Moderator CP files from "modcp_1.2.4em"

A white page shows up instead with only the following text:
"No input file specified."
The page address is:
http://www.[mysite].com/phpbb/modcp/login.php?redirect=modcp/index.php&admin=1&sid=ecbebbf3fd134c4786dfbe4a273d29e0

So when a moderator clicks on the Moderator CP link it appears to try and take them to modcp/login.php but no such file exists.

Any idea how to fix this?

It's trying to get them to re-authenticate like an admin does to access the admin control pane. Not sure why, perhaps a dodgy link somewhere, but it should be linking to /login.php not /modcp/login.php I have noticed this with a few people's installs but I have not been able to identify the problem since it only occurs for a few people (sadly not me).

Anyone been able to figure out why the Moderator Control Panel link doesn't show - when signed in as a Moderator, but the Admin does - when signed in as an Admin.

I'm running the latest 1.2.5em and can't figure out why its being blocked/not showing.

Hi, Milkman.
I've installed Moderator CP 1.2.7 on phpBB 2.0.21
When I'm logged in as a moderator I can't see the link to Mod CP.
I've tried changing the "admin" to "modcp" in the admin link when logged in as an admin and it works fine.
I've also tried to access the link directly http://www.mysite.com/modcp/ when logged in as a moderator and it says

"You are not authorized to administer this board "

What can it be? please help
Thank you.

Did you run the SQL in the install file? Have you enabled any modules in the ACP?

That line of SQL is quite important as it keeps a note of whether mods can access the ModCP or not.. glad we fixed the problem :)
