could you help me further more, i would like to have different categories open depending on the url the visitor is visiting from not if the user is logged in or logged out.
example:
two servers are linking to the forum
visitors from http://www.server1.com have category 1 and 3 open, 2 closed
visitors from http://www.server2.com have category 2 and 3 open, 1 closed.

I tried installing this MOD and am having problems with it, namely that I can't find any way to set defaults in Forum Admin as the description says I should be able to.

I installed it through EasyMod. I would like to uninstall it, but have no idea how to do so manually. I tried to install the add-on for EasyMod that allows you to uninstall there, but that doesn't appear to have installed. I also read help topics that explain how to find and reload the backups that EasyMod makes before it changes files and I couldn't locate those in the folders indicated.

I installed easymod_0.3.0 and Collapsed_Catagories_By_Default-1[1].3.0a. I tried to install EM_addon_1_2_0 and Collapsed_Catagories_By_Default-2.0.0c to correct, but both reported numerous errors within the EasyMod area.

I did a full backup of my entire board via FTP before installing this MOD and even tried to just totally reload that, but the categories are still collapsing.

I'm extremely frustrated. :) Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

In the ACP you go to Forum Admin / Management and there you can choose if you want the catagory to be openen or closed.

I don't see anywhere to do so. It looks exactly the same as it did before the mod was installed.

It seems the mod was not completaly installed then, you should manually check if all files where correctly editted.
Btw, if you use a different template then subSilver, then the change is big that easy mod did not edit the tpl files from that template correct.
Mostly other templates use different code then subSilver, and easymod will presume that its all the same.

I do use subsilver.

I'll try to check everything manually, but that's quite over my head. That's why I used EasyMod.

Thank you. :)

OK, I figured out what was wrong and got it installed properly..but I am pretty sure the board members won't like it. The 1.3.0 version was really slick in that you simply clicked the forum name to collapse and expand. The 2.0.0 version has the crosshairs that have to be clicked on each forum to expand. I know it's virtually the same... it just went from slick to ...well ...(I'm sorry) unattractive.

Question #1 - is there a way to keep the 2.0.0 install but have it work so that the crosshairs disappear and clicking on the forum category title expands the category?

Question #2 - If not, how can I uninstall version 2.0.0?

Thank you.

I guessed wrong, anyway and my users love the crosshairs, so THANK YOU for the MOD and for your time here. This one is closing out as a success. :)

Would it be possible to implement a cookie, or something, that lets each user's browser keep the data of which categories were last open and which were closed? Could they leave the index, go to another page and come back and have it still open?

Also, is there a way to allow for more than one category to be expanded at a time and not close one by opening another? Please help me, if you can. I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
