I was able to download the new version 0.2.5 and installed again from scratch on a 2.0.4 board. Still having a problem although I can actually log-in now, when the page is loaded I have numerous broken images appearing and when checking the URL tags for the given pictures I get (examples):

http://www.oasisforum.valcato.net/go/vi ... rameTL.gif
http://www.oasisforum.valcato.net/go/vi ... rameBR.gif

8O Funny thing is some areas like index.php, search.php, ect... the problem disappears and the template images and logo is properly tagged and displayed as a picture but other areas (as above) like viewforum.php and viewtopic.php and everything is practically a RedX leading to that screwy URL with the file name of the page being accessed thrown in there :? :cry:

PS: I DID make the changes suggested to functions.php but still this problem. I will be restoring things since this error is pretty bad so if you try to view the things I described you likely won't see them.

EDIT: Ok I did some further troubleshooting and it seems the problem is if you have items to display on a page which are a certain number of subdir.s in the structure then this problem occurs. Kind of hard to explain but for example I switched to the default "subSilver" theme and most of the images will now draw up fine however even the /images/avatar/galleries/xxxx/ would fail and the filename would be stuck within the longer URL trying to access the given picture (hope this make sense). Anyhow here is a screenshot taken when running jasidog theme where the problem is most noticed:

It's a problem in htaccess file

Change:
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2 [L]
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/images/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/images/$2 [L]
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/images/$2/$3 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)$ images/$1 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ images/$1/$2 [L]

With:
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2 [L]
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2/$3 [L]
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2/$3/$4 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)$ images/$1 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ images/$1/$2 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ images/$1/$2/$3 [L]

This *should* resolve the problem.

For anyone who can't access to my site, I've got a problem with some ISP (don't ask why...) try to access using a proxy server.

Getting closer to working here now with that latest change in .htaccess

I still have the avatars showing RedX and bad URL problem in viewtopic although from the profile the gallery images show fine 8O

Ex: http://www.oasisforum.valcato.net/go/vi ... /SOF95.gif

I will leave things in place for awhile this evening if you want to check just click any forum and view a topic @ http://www.oasisforum.valcato.net/go/index.php for example to the avatars not showing problem.

Oops :oops: I see this has bad effects on attachments mod displaying an attached picture also :cry:

See: http://www.oasisforum.valcato.net/go/vi ... p/t=4.html

Had to pull it again :cry: after discovering that I could no longer move a topic. When modcp was accessed the page would just reload and never bring up the forum options to move.

Ok... It's still an .htaccess problem, try this:
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2 [L]
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2/$3 [L]
RewriteRule templates/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ templates/$1/$2/$3/$4 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)$ images/$1 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ images/$1/$2 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ images/$1/$2/$3 [L]
RewriteRule images/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ images/$1/$2/$3/$4 [L]

#Only for attach mod...
#NOTE: Change files/ to attach mod file dir
RewriteRule files/([^/]+)$ files/$1 [L]

And this correct Mod CP problem:
In file viewtopic.php, about line 583

Find:
if ( $is_auth['auth_mod'] )
{
$s_auth_can .= sprintf($lang['Rules_moderate'], "<a href=\"modcp.$phpEx?" . POST_FORUM_URL . "=$forum_id&sid=" . $userdata['session_id'] . '">', '</a>');

$topic_mod .= "<a href=\"/modcp.$phpEx?" . POST_TOPIC_URL . "=$topic_id&mode=delete&sid=" . $userdata['session_id'] . '"><img src="' . $images['topic_mod_delete'] . '" alt="' . $lang['Delete_topic'] . '" title="' . $lang['Delete_topic'] . '" border="0" /></a>&';

}

Replace with:
if( $is_auth['auth_mod'] )
{
$s_auth_can .= sprintf($lang['Rules_moderate'], '<a href="' . append_sid("modcp.$phpEx?" . POST_FORUM_URL . "=$forum_id") . '">', '</a>');

Nice mod, but I cant get it to work. I also have the image-problem. Smiles and some images are wrong:

Code: Select all

http://www.vwcorrado.de.local/forum/viewtopic.php/wink.gif
e.gif
or when Answering inside the iframe:

Code: Select all

http://www.vwcorrado.de.local/forum/posting.php/mode=topicreview/smile.gif
I also get a JS-Error on every page: Syntaxerror Row: 2 Char: 1

I think this is an interesting mod, that i may try to modify though for the following reasons :

:arrow: from:
http://forum.divxmania.it/viewtopic.php ... ight=CereS
why move to:
http://forum.divxmania.it/viewtopic.php ... CereS.html
when you could move to
http://forum.divxmania.it/viewtopic/167 ... asc/CereS/
(not completely sure that's possible, but i would bet it is).

:arrow: Robots.txt thing is somehow fine, but parts of it are somehow useless since the bots just cannot access files disallowed there.

:arrow: Right now for a medium to large board this mod would be eating too much cpu (see next arrows).

:arrow: There's no real point in catching 200 bots or something. Most of the small ones won't index deeper than 2 links away on your site, and most of them will never bring you any traffic anyway. Only fast, slurp (inktomi), of course googlebot, and maybe 2 or 3 others should be checked. Remember that every time the function is called the script does 200 regexps, which are VERY cpu consuming, for finally very little use for bots other than previously mentionned. By the way, the function areyouabot is called 3 times for every single request, which means 600 regexps for every request on your board 8O . The result of areyouabot should be cached in some way that it is reused for the same request, combined with the lesser number of bots checked that could make the number of regexps executed (for this part of the mod) down to 3-5.

:arrow: As a note, as far as possible (ie if you have access to your httpd.conf), the rewrite rules should be put inthere instead of htaccess (however many don't have access to it).

:arrow: about email robots, that's 5 more regexps every request, when there may be better email protections (like encoding email adresses in unicode, or simply not display them).

So i'm probably gonna try customizing this mod for me for the precedent points (simpler urls, lower cpu load with less bots checked and chaching, and removal of the spambots part), still that's a very interesting work you've done there (wouldn't have had the courage to do it myself if i had to start from crash).

Keep up the good work

yes I am more or less.

I have replaced the short url's with another that I like better and changed quite a few things. I Had previously from other projects a much more extensive and complete list of bots and spiders so I have added the few here and updated my setup to do a few more things. Anyway I planed in a few days to release a mod based on this plus my updates and a few other bits and pieces.

Hopefully it will work much better. Oh and i have it all working on 2.0.4 so I know that was complained about some in other threads regarding other tools like this.
