installation is pretty straight forward its designed to mimic as much as possible the one you went through when you installed phpbb to put you at ease, but I strongly suggest that being awake is a good start while installing and operating mx.

its still a dev version though 2.705 seems to have very few problems so maybe the next release will be more of a clean up release, certainly the effort for next release will be to make it as user friendly as possible, currently it still has the hallmarks of a programmers toy.

for some reason whenever i am on the admin panel (admin/index.php)
whenever i click on any of the choices on the left side i get this

The requested URL /portal/admin/admin/[whateverfile].php was not found on this server

i have no idea why it is calling for the admin folder twice

----------------

problem #2
none of the images like whosonline.gif, the viewlatest post image, or edit block configuration is showing up

------------------
problem #3
none of the pages like profile, faq, search, memberlist, or inbox are showing up...
its calling for them in the portal folder when i believe it should be calling for them in the forum folder.... but how do i fix

this is not a support thread rather a dev thread, I know that sounds odd but please to keep this thread open and allow us to announce updates put your support question to mx-system.com support site, also I happened to see your post by chance and most of the development team are only passive phpbb.com users scary thought I know.

but to help out though please don't reply here but rather on mx if you need more help

SupremeWeapon-> sounds like you havent set subsilver as standard, which would cause this problem until you set up a new theme.

deerdork-> wow that sounds like a very old bug that we fixed in 2.703 make sure you have the current upto date version if it is the latest visit mx-system and do a search a fix was made for early versions and may solve this problem.
this problem and indeed all 3 are indictive of a wrong paths in the config file.

But try to keep this thread clear except for development questions were happy to help you at our main site.
though development questions are welcomed

Will this MX Portal be a clean install if I have a heavily MODed forum?

The reason I ask, is your ZIP file has a TON of files included with it, that I am positive are already MODed by other MODs. If your install will just overwrite these existing files without looking for existing MODs, this install is potentially disasterous.

Thanks.

well, the idea of using a portal is not to mod phpbb...but instead to load portal modules for addon features...

www.mx-system.com seems to be down, I either get "unable to connect to server" or a empty directory listing :(
