Sorry to hear you couldnt get tyo mx-system.com, its certainly up now and I didn't spot any drop in traffic in the logs to suggest it went down at any point on friday, so hopefully just a small glitch

It was down yesterday for a few hours.... it went back up sometime this morning.

You can PM me or send me an instant message (icq/aim/msn) if you have any more questions, otherwise go directly to the site for support

v. 2.7.3 : New Year 2004 Milestone release, third edition

This version is a major bugfix release version, also with some additional features, and improving both portal speed and management, making the core 2.7.1+ branch final/stable.

Associated module releases will follow shortly :-)

Latest version features/change log

- Improved phpbb detection during install
- faster db access, improved routines
- private message count fix
- fix for multiple instances of mx announcements on one page
- fix for multiple polls on one page
- fixed "lost password" link
- Last Message and Announcements conflict solved
- Numerous fixes/addons to the Textblocks module
preview fix + table cell spanning fix
html fix
new PAGE/TOC feature
- Safe mode on compatible
- smilies on/off in portal
- added link back to topic in polls
- "safe" theming -> using subSilver if theme's not installed for portal
- added back to portal link from menu nav adminCP
- core + modules use page_id exclusively
- gzip "fix"...reverted to old code
- when phpbb themes are not installed for mx, use subSilver
- removed use of session_start()...therefore /tmp folder for php is no longer needed
- making dbfetchrow compatible with some weird servers using cache
- rewritten get_auth_forum() function (markus petrux) generating less db queries for polls, announcements, last_msg_post and stats
- polls fix for 'latest poll' in different poll blocks
- removed stats link i nav menu for standard mx installation
- new phpbb overall_header (mx style) with documentation in contrib folder

All official modules have had a series of fixes and upgrades.

General note on names so as to stop confusion
mx2.7.3 is the latest 2.7.x version and this branch will now continue until release of mx2.8 or mx3
Users using 2.705 or below should think about upgrading as this is the last version guaranteed to provide upgrades from 2.70x branches.

Documentation for this release should be available within the next week.

Small Bug
There appears to be a compatability problem with mx and the cash mod, or more specificly the mx admin area and the cash mod. The code from the cash mod is being checked by the mx team, hopefully we can find out whats causing the problem
please report any otehr bugs at our support forums,

I have been searching for a portal system with a lot of good stuff. I found ez portal, im portal, and some other ones. dis one looks good. when the server comes back up i will try this Just one request. Can n e one make a block or something for topic calendar.

The portal is "choppy" cuz it has too much stuff on it. when you scroll down, its not smooth... like I said, its very "choppy"... sorry, thats the only word I can think of to describe how it feels like..

not really following

we have modulized Snailsource's popular Calendar Lite mod, with some addon blocks for minical, upcoming events ect

topic calendar? is that a new mod? ;)

so what's your point?

i mean that has nothing to do with the portal itself...its an issue over at mx-system.com since WE like lots of frontpage info...if you fancy you could use our portal system generating blank pages ;)

please, this is not some kind of 'show off' - topic...

btw, whats 'choppy' is actually our new theme which use semitransparent table cells...maybe not that wise if only focused on speed...but its cool :-)
