I've been trying to give the mod reviewers to put in their $.02 before I do the release. They've been very responsive, and I think I'm close to official. Watch for 1.1.5 - coming very soon!

1.1.0 (not released)
- Uses this standard header
- Uses language file for internationalization
- Includes phpBB copyright meta tag

1.1.5
- ReadMe.txt file incorporated into this header area
- Fully utilizes phpBB DBAL for cross-database compability
- Fixes a display bug in forums.php when using bullets
- Fixes a display bug in topics.php when using bullets

No it doesn't include user login, and it uses forum permissions the way phpBBToGo 1.0.0 did:

Set: $CFG['use_auth'] = 1; in phpBBToGo.php to restrict access to restricted forums (since there's no way to login all restricted forums are restricted)

So basicly is a way to view messages only. Since you cant login there would be no way to respond or post new messages.

Is there a plan to implement user login in the future?

I think you're missing the point of this MOD ;)

It's about having the ability to download posts to your local PDA/cell-phone/whatever-gizmo for off-line viewing :)

Or, perhaps I'm missing the point of this MOD :P

Oh, I dont do much off-line reading of posts.

I thought this was like a way to make our phpbb sites be easier to use via a pda or phone. Kind of like having the ability to read and answer posts while on the road with my PDA via a wi-fi link.

Right now I can do it with one of the mostly text templates but you still end up doing the left to right scroll alot.

That would be cool if phpBBToGo had that option, but it would also be a lot more work. I would like to implement login in the future, we'll see how it goes.

Of course phpBBToGo is Open Source, so maybe someone else will pick up this torch.

great mod

Post by Frold » Mon Mar 17, 2003 10:53 am

I like this mod very much and the same do the users of my forum!!

In the combination with isilo this mod is great and it is even possible to browse the forum on different wap telephones. I have tested some wap phones on www.gelon.net and the forum looks great there!

Thanks!

phpBBToGo 1.1.6

Post by timconstan » Tue Mar 25, 2003 2:18 am

Just wondering if the mod evaluators got the 1.1.6 version I submitted.

(1.1.6 includes an install.txt file, does not include any programming changes)

New Version [1.1.8]

Post by timconstan » Sat Jun 28, 2003 2:34 pm

The new version [1.1.8] has been submitted to phpBB for review.

It can be downloaded now from http://phpbbtogo.togosolo.com

Here's what's new in version 1.1.8:
- Fixed a bug that was preventing mobilizing only 1
with a forum id other than "1"

- Added option to sort by date of last post (phpBB style)
Note: $CFG['sort_topics_alpha'] is now $CFG['sort_topics']
