not sure if this is correct in ur install file but u might want to take a look at it

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------------
#
privmsg.php
....
....
....
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------------
#
	$bbcode_uid = $privmsg['privmsgs_bbcode_uid'];
#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]-----------------------------------------
#

//-- mod : profile cp ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
//-- delete
//	if ( $board_config['allow_sig'] )
//-- add
	if ( $sig_display && $user_from['enable_sig'] && $user_from['user_sig'] != '' )
//-- fin mod : profile cp --------------------------------------------------------------------------
but the next line of code in the file is this

Code: Select all

	if ( $board_config['allow_sig'] )
now u say in the install file part that that line is deleted
im just wondering if u might have missed this?

You are absolutly right, thanks :). This should be a replace on the "if ( $board_config['allow_sig'] )" and not a add after : I fix that in the new descriptive and will upload it.

The birthday today list is done, I'm taking a look at the age info, then I will upgrade to v 0.0.2 (very light modifications).

Of course : just give me the link to the mod, and a small explanation on which information it uses to display the avatar. In the func get_user_rank(), you've got all the info of the user, and when displaying a post, all the info of the topic and the post.

Mod upgraded to v 0.0.2 (and so the zip file ;)). It now includes a new icon (happy_birthday.gif), a descro to upgrade from v 0.0.1 to 0.0.2, and the converter of the birthday mod by Niel's to the birthday date of the PCP.

New features :
  • birthday today list on the index,
  • age of the poster on the topic display

I see no particular trap applying your mod to the PCP :). Just apply it in the functions_profiles.php, on the function get_user_rank(), with only the changes to the $rank_image.
I advice you to also apply the str_repeat() directly to the $rank_image var in the func : doing so you will remove one modification to the viewtopic, and it will be also available for the viewprofile (I add the display of the rank to the public information below the avatar ;)).

Just change in the functions_profile.php this :

Code: Select all

#
#---[ FIND ]-----------------
#
					$rank_image = ( $all_ranks[$i]['rank_image'] ) ? '<img src="' . $all_ranks[$i]['rank_image'] . '" alt="' . $rank_title . '" title="' . $rank_title . '" border="0" />' : '';
#
#---[ REPLACE WITH ]----------
#
					$rank_image = ( $all_ranks[$i]['rank_image'] ) ? str_repeat('<img src="' . $all_ranks[$i]['rank_image'] . '" alt="' . $rank_title . '" title="' . $rank_title . '" border="0" />', $all_ranks[$i]['rank_mal']) : '';
for the two lines identicals ;). It will perform all the job of displaying (no modifications to viewtopic or profile are required).

I installed and tested the 0.0.2 (including the birthday converter) and everything appears to be ok! :D

After the battle (yesterday) against de 20 s page load time everybody seems very happy (what is very uncommon in a large board). Just one request from my users: a more easy username change. Now, to change his own username, a user have to chance it in Profile->Register, and also put his password, new passwords and the anti-register image. They like that only the password would be necessary.

I have to have a second look on this, because of decrease of security it could occurs (I have to check how identify correctly and simply the type of action the user - or a robot - is performing).

With the buddy and the anniversary list, what is the average time to load your index page now ?
