Don't worry about PM. Can always turn those off entirely and for most users this is not the most important thing in the world.

I have some users that I would like to still be able to post, but not 20 messages per day!

alright, does this logic sound good:
3 vars:
first is enable/disable post limit
second is number of post limit
third is date of post limit(if he posted twice yesterday it doesnt count on today post limit)

add checkbox and datafield into user admin managment, right below the checkbox for avatar

check for posting limit when the post button is pressed, and when the submit button is pressed

am i missing anything?

what about edits, should they be counted in the post limit?

otherwise i should be done for beta soon(if i dont fall asleep again...)

ok, one last question, do we want them to wait a full 24 hours, or just untill the next day?

I think the limit of a awaiting of 24 hours is fine.

Someone should lock the other topic so we don't have duplicates. Anyways, the beta version of this should be ready tonight if anyone wants to try it out.

It is no problem for me to test it.

My website is as following;

http://www.zwetplassers.nl
http://forum.zwetplassers.nl
http://admin.zwetplassers.nl
http://test.zwetplassers.nl
http://marathon.zwetplassers.nl

so I have many childdomeins, I can make a copy of http://forum.zwetplassers.nl and put it on http://test.zwetplassers.nl
so nobody is having damage if it's not working.

What I created was a way to set a post limit, on an individual user basis. If the post limit is set to 0 it means there is no limit. I thought of having a boardwide user post limit but don't know how necessary that would be. When I get home I'll work on the MOD Template as I just put in the code and documented it. At the latest it should be available on Sunday.

edit----
Also, It goes by a day to day basis, but would not be hard to change to check for 24 hours.
