blocking website posting of certain URLs and...

Post by weebit » Wed May 17, 2006 4:05 am

I would like to be able to block the posting of certain websites. Hopefully set up the same as the blocking of certain words used.

This way I can control the spam better sense they like to keep spam posting the same websites over and over again.

If it is not so much trouble I would also like to have a members list to where I only have to tick each member and delete or ban them with one click and a confirm click. I would like the same with the messages too please.

I have a function that uses the build in words replace to check for a word in

EVERY field ( all register/profile fields, PM, subject, message/post )

If the word is found the message is NOT processed.

I'll post the code this week.
in the meantime, take a look at: http://www.phpbbinstallers.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=28

Thank you.

I have a forum that is being spammed bad. Would you believe they join now? They do and they don't care about the confirm etc. I have one more request. I thought the forum if you used * it would be treated as a wildcard. Well I was blocking a email addy also. I put in *@mail.ru to block anyone from using this as part of their email. It didn't work. I have 50 or so members all using that as part of their email addy. I am stumped. I use to really love this board, but as the years go by I have lost control over it even though I do everything on my part to stop them. We need stronger means to stop them.

It would be nice if we had a built in spam control center for the board.

One that blocks emails, certain words, websites, and also checks the amount of miss spelled words and denys them access to post after if finds so many miss spelled words.

Actually that latter part might be good for email too. :) Plus the others as well.
