make urls small

i know this mod exists but i've tried every search i can't think of.

I want to make long urls short automatically (the links people put in posts).

you could do this:

[url=http://www.google.com]google[/url]

or you could go to www.tinyurl.com and that will make any long url shorter

That only sporadically works for me. Some URLs still show up when I do that - not sure why. But in any case I don't want to have to change other's post who can't be bothered.

Yes. That is what I was looking for. Thanks. Actually, I don't think that is what I am looking for now that I read about it. It isn't a plugin for phpbb? I was hoping there was something to make this automatic.
