I find the articles in this Knowledge Base category very helpful. They describe phpBB's MOD standards, etc.

I bet over 90% of us MOD developers use a standard text editor like Notepad. I personally use Notepad++, because it's light-weight but has good features. I believe there are a few things you might want to check out at the MOD Development Tools page, as concluded from your very uncertain tone.

Judging from this person's website, he is looking for Mods to games.

This forum is for Mods to phpBB forum system, not games.

Everyone here is talking about Notepad for windows and vi for Linux. Doesn't anyone here use Wordpad anymore?

Enough with the sarcasim, I'm working on a program similer to MODStudio, but without any copyright infrigements (I wrote it from scratch). It's buggy and requires .NET 2.0. I'll probably make a MOD Writers thread when it's done.

Hackers tell system administrators of the faults of their software, and keep the Internet safe from those who don't.

Well, I personally think that Wordpad is more oriented toward writing rich text, and isn't as suitable for code development. That's the reason why I use Notepad++; although it doesn't have text formatting options like Wordpad, that's not necessary for code development, and it does have syntax highlighting, which is extremely helpful for code development :D .

And apparently, I forgot to include the UNIX/Linux users, which are probably a large part of the open source community, hehe. *salutes drathbun*

Good point. We'll see when the guy replies again.
