Who Is Online - How To Add Usergroups ?

Post by Matt_UK1 »

Howdy guys.

Re: Usergroups

Can anyone help me with this please ?

Basically all I am wanting to do, is ...

On my forum in my Who Is Online section of the statistics, where it says Administrator and Moderator, how can I make it so that there is a new category on the same line which says Usergroups, and the number of users at the bottom of the stats mod show up in that colour ?

Hope that makes sense, like the Moderator for example is green, I want another category say in yellow saying Usergroups and then the members to also show in yellow showing everyone associated to that group ?

Heres a pic of what I mean :

I tried the Olympus one and it just gave me a legend and not what I wanted.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers.

Matt :)

sorry, i dont. i understand what you are asking, but not sure how to actually do it.

i'd suggest copying your .php files from your board to notepad and having a look at the index/front page where it deals with the memberlist info. i cant check my files as my hosts gone down (grrrrrrrrrrr) but in the who's online section of the index pages code there will be something like {L_MOD_ONLINE} OR {L_MOD} AND {L_ADMIN_ONLINE} OR {L_ADMIN}

Now if you look at the user gruop files and find their phpbb codes then try adding it in the above format, perhaps its {L_GROUPS_ONLINE} for example. its probbally that easy. but i'm guessing as i cant check this, back up first!!!!!

Hiya JulieJesta :)

Thanks for the reply.

While I am pretty confident I think I could, with what your suggesting have it say the work usergroups.

What I dont know is how to give it the correct title to the specific usergroup, nor do I know the code to make it display people in that usergroup in a specific colour ?

Sorry, that my best guess. i'm new to coding, i'm learning as i go. cant help further.

having said that, do you run xs (eXtremeStyles) mod? if so go to edit styles and there is a colours list i think, if i remember rightly... this controls the admin/mods online colourings, so maybee you can add a field? dunno, ive never touched these settings.

Hi.

Yeah I run the extreme styles mod, but it doesnt give me the option to add a usergroup.

Thanks anyway for your advice, I'll have to give it some logical thought.

Cheers.

Sorry Jim, just havin a bit of banter, was a long day, wont let it happen again, wrists slapped

Back on topic, am still no closer to getting the effect I want :( all mods so far seam to point to creating a legend, whereas all I want is the same as Administrator and Moderator but a field next to it giving the title of the usergroup and displaying the colour to that of the members online in the statistics.

Surly its the same as copying the code in relation to the Moderator stats for example, but its how you would tell it to look for a usergroup membership that baffles me.

Cheers.
