For all those who want the RPG mod and those developing one

for those who want it why dont we just forget it for now?
by the time somebody gets all the mods together the new version of phpbb will be out. Then nobody will use it. By the looks of things mods are a lot harder to code than Vbulletin thats why they got loads of rpg mods already and phpbb takes months for just one part. All the people posting they want an RPG mod stop theres tons of topics on this people are working on it give em time, and as always b4 you post you want something LOOK! theres a button at the top of the screen called search. I'm sick of looking how far the RPG mod is going and coming across threads and threads of IU want an RPG mod. Beggers get nothing you rather wait or not its up to you. If the developers rush then the mod will be no way near as good plus have tons of updating which can mess up other people forums.
Sorry just had to get this out of my systemAnd a very big thankyou to eXplosive, and Zarath for 2 fantastic part RPG mods. ( you have paved the way for the first decent RPG mod without you guys there probably wouldn't be any in progress)

I diagree; if we could just get an official PHPBB RPG mod development group together, we could increase the production rate or sections of the mod, and organize them into combined mod releases.

That's my proposal :)

I was actually thinking a RPG FullyModded would be useful for those of you with RPG forums out there.

No it's phpBB with tond os mods installed ... so you can download an already modded package without having to install all the mods yourself ... and you're sure it works as it's tested everyday :)

As for an official one ... there never will be one ... they don't seem to like the idea much!

you know, I had somewhat of a similar brainwave and have been working steadily on phpBB2-RPG lately... I have been installing mods and gradually adding a turn on/off page.

you say in your sig:"Battle arena". Does this mean that users can battle their characters with other members on the boards?

I'm currently developing a Map editor that goes on the admin pannel, but the system is quite tedious to use. No drag and drop from the chipset; Click, Refresh, Click, Refresh *shudders* :x

yes, this is a member-on-member battle system. It will possibly evolve to a group-vs-group system, too (like a member can hire mercinaries or invite other members to help them) but this would be balanced (so no unfair play).

Hm. You should think about how big a battle system actually is and how many possible ways there are to bug it. The mere size overwhelmed me and so I've put mine on hold. I think I'll use something like the refreshing php window that phpchat uses. It causes low bandwidth usage and doesn't even look like it's refreshing.

I've begun an auction mod, since quite a few people seem to want this. Not sure how relative it is to RPG though. Hopefully I'll have it done in a week or so, depending on how my studies go.

Sounds great. But why are all your links in yuor sig. broken? I, myself, can't program phpbb yet (I'm strarting to learn, a bit) but the roup thing sounds pretty good. Now I'm asing: Who IS working on a RPG system? I saw a few Threads with people working on it, but none sem to have links or such.

-Are there any good RPG mods?
-Do a search.
-*does search*
*finds twenty 'are there any good RPG mods?' threads*
*finds fifty 'I wish there were less 'are there any good RPG mod threads' threads*
*finds two hundred locked RPG mod threads*

*sigh*
