phpBB Portal - The project that never happened...

We are approaching 2 years now, and I am starting to question the decision of the phpBB Portal group to hold off development until 2.2. I understand the reasons behind waiting on development, but wouldn't it have made more sense to begin with a 2.0.0 portal? Important lessons could have been learned in this 2 year period to make the 2.2 portal the best it could be.

Just my 2 cents.

Since we are on this topic, I think the team should look long and hard at SEO with the portal. I personally would gladly give up some functionability if it meant Google ranked my pages higher.

You haven't been paying much attention to CVS, have you? While work has been going slowly, it is indeed going ... And as far as SEO goes, I don't think there needs to be much concern about that at the moment.
