safe mode and phpbb

Hi! My hosting company recently migrated me to a new server and for some reason they decided to enable sfaemode in the new server. I was wondering what are the potential problems/errors that could arise when sfae mode is enabled. I have many mods in my phpbb and just want to know how sfae mod could affect the function of my forum and its modifications.

phpBB itself should work fine with safe mode on. I can't speak for a lot of MODs, though; I've seen several problems with them in my time
