Haha, I think we need something a little less specific to you :)

I don't want to call it phpBBPortal or anything like that. To be honest I never really liked the name phpBB either..to uninventive but I couldn't think of anything better at the time :D

Why not call it something like HyperPortal
(the .net domain is still available. I can't get through to the .com and the .org is a load of sh#te..)

i've talked to the guy who runs this project.. he says it's dead because of lack of interest.. so i'm assuming that we can use phpPP if we want.. he also said he would sell the phppp.com/.net/.org domain names in a package for $150 but i think that's a little steep..

Sooo... the phppp on SF is the same that has phppp.com/net/org!

$150 is too high, I reg domains for $10/year, so let's get real. $50 is much more like it :)!

yep it is the same.. although the guy never developed phppp.com/net/org at all.. they are just sitting there not being used.. he said he wasn't going to use them and i just looked his registration on them runs out on the Jan 23rd 2002.. so i don't mind waiting and getting them for $10 :D

If it will go on like this, you will never come to code a single line.

I personally liked the HyperPortal name that subBlue came up with. Sounds more cool than "Jay's php portal", IMHO ;)

s03nk3, believe me, name discussions are very important. I am working in different projects at the moment, and always only after the name was chosen work could start. As soon as those basic questions are answered everything else will flow a lot easier. :)

But wht good is an amazing portal without a good name? Anyway, I think if you look at the forum you will see there has been more actual THOUGHT put into things other than the name.

May we please ban the Portal out of the name? It sounds a little to obligatorily. Perhaps something like "Visual Information Center" is more appropriate ("VIC" sounds cool) :)

But....HyperPortal.....c'mon.....HyperPortal....I'll only agree if you can find a better way to integrate the word "hyper".
