Sorry Paul,

I just ment that he should be credited :) phpBB is made by the phpBB Group!

But it is a thought! ..that a script/program (any type) is so depended on a nice "look". First impression can gather a lot of attention. Luckily, phpBB is more then just a "good look" :wink:

The look of the forum is great. It's so easy on the eyes which is a big BIG plus. The look and functionality of phpBB is a perfect match.

i just wanted to say i really like phpBB, nothing new to add really,

heard about it last year when a mate had 1.4 on his site, liked it, got 2.01 for my site this year.

Very good, kudos should go to all. i like the fact that it's totally open source, i haven't heard of another forum that is totally 'free software' (i'm sure there are some, but i haven't heard of them!).

Sweet! Love the history, brings a tear to the eye. :cry:

I think the general attitude of the Team is commendable too, I find a lot of the other forums the teams think us consumers are just some dumb newbies that have no idea. But you really take on board our ideas, no matter how stupid they may be. :)

Would never go elsewhere!

More history.

I'm a reporter. It's my job to dig up history and information about people and groups. As such, here is some more information from the old phpBB 1.4 site, dated Jan 24, 2002.
The phpBB team is made up of a mix of developers, web designers, and bug hunters. We all work together to try and create the best piece of software that we can. The current team consits of:

* James Atkinson - Project Lead and Creator of phpBB
* Nathan Codding - Developer (BBCode, private messages, and session management, and much more)
* Bart Van Bragt - Developer (Translation System, error handling, and much much more)
* Paul S. Owen - Developer (phpBB v2 DB Abstraction, SQL Improvements, and much more)
* Frank Feingold - Developer (Upgrade scripts, Database Design, and much more)
* John B. Abela - Developer (Cosmetic improvments, forum administration functions, and much more)
* John Barker - Developer (Username/IP banning)
* Greg Polins - Developer (Forum Searching)
* Steven Cunningham - Developer (The FAQ)
* Viceroy - Developer/Hacker (Smiley control panel, dynamic signatures)
* Sally Young - Graphic Design (Our rockin' smilies )
* RedXIII - Web Designer (Logos, web site images)
* John Bloomfield - Web Designer (Web site layout, images)
* Eric Radtke - Web Designer (Logos, web design integration)
* Wade - Developer/Bug Hunter/Hacker (Spell checking)
* Intrahost.com - Offical Host of phpBB.com
* Nathan Wormsbecker - Developer (Moral support)
* David Tod Sigafoos - Bug Hunter
* Uncle Scroter - Bug Hunter

Weather their parts were big or small they were all extreamly important to the devlopment of phpBB it couldn't have been accomplished without their support and assistance. A great big thanks goes out to each and every one on of these people, and also a big thanks goes out to everyone who have posted and emailed telling us how much they love the script and thanking us for doing a great job.

Your History

Post by obesityresources »

What a great history! Taking the time to explain your history should tell us all who you are. Your passion, dedication to your site is obvious. You have given me a chance to develop a site that works for me. I applaud you. I know that this will only get better. Thank you for giving back to those who would like to be you. GOD BLESS YOU.

Would the developers in there free time mind updating the history?
It's nice to see where it all started and how far it has came.
