Heh...I don't think Mr. T will be too pleased that you called him MiserT. The A-team will kill you ;)

Can I at least be a developer on the project since BartVB seems to be the shoe-in for Lead Developer?

IMO someone other than BartVB should be the leader because BartVB will be probably busy doing other stuff... and IMO he should be the "communicator" between the portal dev team and phpBB dev team.

I think you're somewhat missing the point ... enthusiasm and tonnes of 'free time' are great but not always key to making a successful project. If you don't believe me try asking others on this forum who've run projects before whether my statement is often true or not ...

I just want to help out in the development if possible. I'd assume the role of Lead Developer, but only if asked to. Those are some big eyes.

I cannot help with that one, but I agree with Paul: "in my spare time", "as a hobby", "when I'm bored" are not the means to get the job done.

Also, Bart already stated that he'll be available in early december, so I don't see a problem...

A knowledgable team that has both a clearly defined 'structure' and goals.

I am wondering why this decision isn't up to 'The phpBB Development Team' !!!!!

Who said it shouldn't be? I'm volunteering myself and I'd prefer to be elected by phpBB Developers because they are the one's who are controlling the main backbone to phpPP

Because this is an independant project. We're just giving it some backing since it'll be based around phpBB.

Bart seems to be interested in the project, and his relationship with phpBB and inside knolwedge of that dev team and the future of phpBB make him a great candidate for the role. Some of the other candidates in the poll would also make good leads, but will make great devs as well.

A few of use won't be either, but as the project grows new devs may be needed, or if the proposed plugin aspects become a reality then perhaps a few of us might go the route of adding functionality in that way.

Peace,
-- Aristotle.
