free phpbb forum hosting software

Post by ipodman »

Hi,
Please can someone recommend software for free phpbb hosting - Note that's not a hosting company, I'm looking for the actual software (Not phpbb itself obviously!) that is used to run these free forum sites e.g. I have spare capacity on my servers and am looking to act as a free forum host myself. Any help much appreciated!
Cheers,
Richie

Hello.
All the software you need is 100% free:
PHP: www.php.net
Apache: www.apache.org
MySQL: www.mysql.com

Or you might like to try XAMPP which puts them all in one package: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

BTW: for further help, please ask on a general web support site like www.sitepoint.com for help installing these.
Thanks. :)

There is Multi Forums Pro Host...

Although I strongly suggest you do not use this software.

That's your best option for answers.
