line numbering in files requiring manual mods

Post by RosieRed »

I frequently see references in mods to line # such & such, which I thought would be in the files themselves. But when I open them in Notepad there's no line numbering. The search feature helps, but having line numbers would be useful. Am I missing something? (Can't afford new software right now.)

Thanks.

Actual line numbers in the mod files would not work.

Google free text editors. Most if not all have line numbering and more features that are very usefull. Say goodbye to notepad.
