Problem with user regisistration

Post by mocap69 » Fri Aug 31, 2007 10:35 pm

I use the Profile Manager Basic Profile Manager Basicto register users for our forum using an HTML page.
I have removed the register.php file from the forum folder and pointed the Register link in the forum to the HTML page. I do not understand how but somehow people are still registering on the site using the PHPBB way. Are these bots or is there another way to register that I am unaware of? Any suggestions or
help would be great.

There is no "register.php" file in a standard phpBB2 install.

As Jim posted, registration is done by passing a command line switch to profile.php.
That is the usual way that SPAMbots access it.
