plug-in system in phpbb 2.2

Post by tony723 »

Will phpbb 2.2 support some plug-in like system so that it is easy to add in new functions instead of MOD?

Thanks!

AFAIK, it'll be easier to add new functions (for example, the usercp is now module based making it very easy to add new parts to it)

the only other thing i can think of it the authentication system.

Just read the announcement in this forum for more info.

I think one of the benefits to 2.2 is that some of the MODs that I have on my board will now become standard that way I do not have to worry about modding in all of my MODs from 2.0.4 when I get the new version.

A system is in development to make the addition of MODs much easier. But it's a MOD itself, AFAIK ;)

I think if you are familure with how the ACP works, IRT adding new features, than you'll be happy to know that the UCP will also be setup that way, from what I understand.

Beyond that, nope.
