There is still alot to be done with this theme so I would argue as to it being titled [Release].

Furthermore just slaping bootstrap on top of the crapy html that is bundled with prosilver is not a good idea if you really would like to create something of worth out of this I would recode everything to fit around bootstrap and get ride of the crappy css of pro-silver all together. Also consider doing all of it with LESS as it would be more benifital.

Also as pointed out earlier compatability wise this does not work with 3.1 so consider relabeling the info atached to the post to convey this.

Consider using these to plan and map out the redesign. A series of design aids I made several years back for 3.1 overhaul

I would love to see this theme completed, or see someone create another responsive theme if the author stops development here. If I had the knowledge, I would be doing it myself - but my coding skills are not at this level.

Based on what I've seen, a project like this could benefit from it's own development site, with support forums. Someone with the skill could set this up and probably benefit nicely from donations and ads. Look a the WordPress equivalent of a responsive theme, Themeid Responsive Theme: http://themeid.com/

In less than a year, the Themeid theme has already been downloaded over 480,000 times and the development site has a Google PR of 6. Without any doubt, this makes clear the demand for good responsive themes - I look forward to someone creating this for phpBB!

Not exactly the point or concept of this theme i think. Its meant to be a bootstrap designed theme. I also do not feel that their is such a demand for something such as this maybe more for what you speak of but not as much as you boast If their truly was then it would exist. Also as for the site you pointed out the theme/concept is not unique in any regard their probably exist several bootstrap themes for wordpress by now. they just do not use the default style/look of bootstrap.

* Bootstrap or not, the features as listed in this theme's description are "Responsive" and "Fluid Layout" and this is what attracted me to theme.
* Google recommends Responsive mobile friendly sites over standard mobile sites
* 2013 is the year where more web visitors transitioned into using smart phones than desktops or laptops for viewing internet
* Even Forbes published an article stating that if your website is not mobile friendly, you are missing out
* Flash is going out, with the lack of support in mobiles
* At almost five hundred thousand, Themid Responsive Theme is the most downloaded theme ever for WordPress, other than themes which come with initial installation - not unique?
* One can look at the big power sites across the web, and see there is a large trend moving towards responsive design:

http://www.time.com
http://www.starbucks.com/
http://disney.com/
http://www.fundraise.com/
http://www.smashingmagazine.com/
http://www.bostonglobe.com

I look forward to someday seeing this capability in phpbb.

Again its a feature, not the primary/sole focus. I would love to see data to back up the clame that Themeid is the number 1 most downloaded theme. Their are plenty of of responsive themes out their that have been around for several yrs.

Not that Its not, I have all but given up on wordpress for more robust solutions endevours and have not followed wordpress development as its stagnent and has been for several yrs.

I have redesigned the theme from scratch using phpBB 3.0.11's proSilver template files. Although a lot of work is required in terms of making it responsive, I believe bootstrapping has been done to a certain extent.
I will continue developing the theme and fixing the bugs. Contributions are welcome.

First of all, thank you!

Yes, a lot of work is yet to be done. However, I believe the necessary styling has been completed. Also, I didn't use the exact HTML markup of proSilver. For instance, I didn't use the span corners. Instead I used CSS border radius. Not just that, I have re-written several other markups in the overall-header, view-forum and other template files.
Regarding the 3.1 issue, I have completely revised the theme using phpBB 3.0.11's code. Have a look at proBoot v.2.0 here: http://shibulijack.github.com/proBoot/

selfservice0 wrote:This theme does not work. When a user attempts to register it says "The e-mail address confirmation you entered is too short." because this theme offers no e-mail address confirmation form on the register page.

This code on the ucp_register.html page

Code: Select all

	<dl>
		<dt><label for="email">{L_EMAIL_ADDRESS}:</label></dt>
		<dd><input type="text" tabindex="2" name="email" id="email" size="25" maxlength="100" value="{EMAIL}" class="inputbox autowidth" title="{L_EMAIL_ADDRESS}" /></dd>

Should be this

Code: Select all

	<dl>
		<dt><label for="email">{L_EMAIL_ADDRESS}:</label></dt>
		<dd><input type="text" tabindex="2" name="email" id="email" size="25" maxlength="100" value="{EMAIL}" class="inputbox autowidth" title="{L_EMAIL_ADDRESS}" /></dd>
	</dl>
	<dl>
		<dt><label for="email_confirm">{L_CONFIRM_EMAIL}:</label></dt>
		<dd><input type="text" tabindex="3" name="email_confirm" id="email_confirm" size="25" maxlength="100" value="{EMAIL_CONFIRM}" class="inputbox autowidth" title="{L_CONFIRM_EMAIL}" /></dd>
	</dl>
Sorry. I have fixed this issue. Please download proBoot v.2.0 from here: http://shibulijack.github.com/proBoot/

Ah, that explains it. Any news on a 3.0.11 version?

andrew55 wrote:phpBB needs a good responsive theme that is customizable (it's long overdue). This is great. I have been waiting for something like this to appear for quite some time. I'm more of a marketer, not a developer, or I would have done it myself sooner.

Thank you for taking the initiative to create this theme.

Any ETA on when the version for 3.0.11 will be available?

I'm looking forward to seeing this explode!

Something must have happened during installation... reinstalled it and works fine now O.o

Edit: I do however have a problem changing it from being "fluid". I dont want it to span the entire size of the screen, I like seeing the boarders on the size. Before I was just able to go into the bootstrap.css and change it from row-fluid and container-fluid to just row and container. I did this with the updated version but it is not changing it. Am I missing something?

Changing the fluid styles in .css file might have worked before, but it's definitely not the correct way to do it. Please replace the edited CSS with the original CSS from the repo. Meanwhile I will push a new version which is based on a grid system.

Thanks, will do. Please let me know when you have those changes pushed!
