How to widen and center whatisreal style

Post by eddiemaiden »

To widen, try this ShuFFs

In whatisreal.css

FIND

html>body {
background: url(images/space_bk.gif) fixed #000;
margin: 0px;
color: #fff;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; }
* html body {
background: url(images/earth_bk1.jpg) no-repeat fixed #000;;
margin: 0px;
color: #fff;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; }
a, a:visited {
color: #b7bfda; }
a:hover {
color: #F7BC5B; }
html>body #container {
width: 735px;
background: url(images/earth_bk.jpg) no-repeat fixed;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}
* html body #container {
width: 735px;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}

REPLACE WITH

body {
background: url(images/earth_bk1.jpg) no-repeat fixed #000;;
margin: 0px;
color: #fff;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; }
a, a:visited {
color: #b7bfda; }
a:hover {
color: #F7BC5B; }
#container {
width: 900px;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}form { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; }

This will boost the size from 735 pixels to 900. I also like it to be centered which you can accomplish by editing the overall_header.tpl and overall_footer.tpl files.

In overall_header.tpl

FIND

<div id="container">

BEFORE ADD

<center>

in overall_footer.tpl

FIND

</body>

AFTER ADD

</center>

vogateer wrote: This is truly my favorite theme. Very original in my opinion. Unfortunately there is one minor problem for me.

This problem only happens in Konqueror, in Firefox and others I've tried, it works great. In Konqueror, the boxes for posting a reply or topic, and the titles for both, have a white background (while Firefox displays the blue blackground), and the white text obviously doesn't show up on this. I was able to apply the fix you gave for Double J to take care of the drop down boxes, but I'm not sure where to find this in the .css file, where I'm assuming a fix could be made.

Thanks again for sharing a wonderful theme.

Vogateer

I'm with Vogateer, though my problem is in Safari.

I have also tried the following:
Graphic wrote: Find in whatisreal.css:

Code: Select all

html>body select {
	background: url(images/blank.gif); }
* html body select {
	background: #1c2a5f; }
select {
	color: #fff;
	font-size: 10px;
	border: #1c2b62;
	border-style: solid;
	border-width: 0px 0px 0px 0px; }
And replace with:

Code: Select all

select {
	background: #1c2a5f;
	color: #fff;
	font-size: 10px;
	border: #1c2b62;
	border-style: solid;
	border-width: 0px 0px 0px 0px; }

Now, just to clarify, should I be replacing the entire block or just the portion beginning with "select {"? None the less, I've tried both to no avail.

This is a fantastic skin, and I'd really love to get it working, but I'm concerned about adopting it if users with Safari will be unable to see what they're typing. Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Truly an effective Style and theme, the whole presentation is original and effective. I intend using this Style when we eventually go live.

Many thanks for sharing, must have taken a lot of your time.

I think this one will take the experts on this forum.

Realtruth wrote: Problem solved.

I edited .css file as recommend but here is the line of code I had to edit for everyone future reference.

#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------------------
templates/WhateverTemplateName/***.css

#-----[ FIND ]-------------------------------------------------------
html>body #container {
width: 735px;
background: url(images/earth_bk.jpg) no-repeat fixed;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}
* html body #container {
width: 735px;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}
form { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; }
div { font-size: 10px; }
hr { height: 0px; border: solid #6f80b6 0px; border-top-width: 1px;}
iframe {
border: 0px; }

#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]-----------------------------------------------
html>body #container {
width: 955px;
background: url(images/earth_bk.jpg) no-repeat fixed;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}
* html body #container {
width: 955px;
padding-top: 25px;
padding-left: 15px;}
form { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; }
div { font-size: 10px; }
hr { height: 0px; border: solid #6f80b6 0px; border-top-width: 1px;}
iframe {
border: 0px; }

Only lines that were replaced were the width:***.px;

Problem of entire forum expansion solved.

To do this you should edit CSS and redo most of the images (including earth background).

Awsome theme...fits perfect with the style I want on my board(after some tweaking). :D

Image
(where its brighter pink, that is where my mouse is...its the hover image ;))

And I found that this works best for the size:

Code: Select all

html>body #container {
	width: 100% - 30px;
	padding-top: 25px;
	padding-left: 15px;
	padding-right: 15px;}

Does it do that on any of the other templates? If not, reupload the theme to your website. If it does it on others, you have a language problem, or a problem with includes/usercp_register.php. ;)

Unless you are good at php/html you should NOT use phpBB3 Beta 1 for a live board. No styles for phpBB2 will work for 3, and there are no officially released styles for phpBB3 Beta 1, though there are a few work in progress ones on the development site.

Not a bad skin, 7/10. I can see how some people may like it much much more.
