It is what it says. They're not where you think they are.

IF you have it all uploaded correctly, your board will automatically go offline because an /install folder is present. If that hasn't happened then it's not right.

You need to upload the contents of the /root folder to your forum folder.

So after all night and crashing my site once i figured id ask for some more help...I'm going right back to the basics cause I am missing something.

Image

Im sure you know the folders on the left are my site..Just wondering if someone could treat my like a newbie and explain where each folder goes. I am sorry to be a pain but I would love to tackle this alone with some help of course.

And 1 more thing with filezilla I can connect to my site but no matter what i put in the remote site bar I cant get anything ever to come up

ok, delete whatever you have on your site that relates to the automod.

now,
1. on your computer, unzip the automod zip file
2. open your ftp program
3. on the left side ( your computer ) find and open the automod folder and the root folder inside it.
you should see this on the left side of your ftp .
adm
includes
install
language
store
umil

4. on the right side of your ftp, make sure you have the board opened so that you are seeing this:
adm
cache
docs
downloads
etc.

5. highlite all the files and folders on the left side;
adm
includes
install
language
store
umil

6. upload/transfer all of those files/folder to the right side.
they will merge with the ones of the same name on the right side so if you get a message about overwriting,
choose yes/ok.

7. in your browser, go to;
yourdomain.com/install

follow the instructions there, fill in the blanks etc.

8. when the install is complete, delete that folder named "install" and you are done.

oh, by the way, if you get a warning about the UMIL being out of date, ignore it and click the continue/submit button anyway.

correct. that is what the install instructions that are available where you downloaded it say.

you only upload the files/folders that are inside the folder named root.

That can't be right because the right hand window shows a folder called Install (upper case I) and the left one shows a folder called install (lower case i). They are not the same thing.
