A 404 error is what it says. The file or lacation you're asking it for doesn't exist.

What's the real address of your site?
Is your board in a folder called /phpbb3?

That's why mydomain.com/phpbb3/install gives you a 404 message.
Your site is just in the root and not in a folder called phpbb3.

So you need to upload the autoMOD files that are inside the /root folder of the download and put them in to your public_html folder (the same place that the boards config.php file is located).

If you've done it right, your site will go offline as an /install folder is present on the server.

Then go to
http://www.returnofwilderness.com/install and follow the directions.

You have to open the zip that you downloaded. Then upload the contents of the root folder that's inside the zip.

I'm really confused mate, i've took a look at that how am i ment to empty the contents itself because when i go to do it just opens another file. like i go to upload it but it opens the file in the root.
