My theme "breaks" the table width... Why?

Post by JohanLM » Fri Sep 05, 2008 7:04 pm

I'm going nuts here. I think the sollution is obvioous, but I just can't see it.

This is how it SHOULD look like :::
http://www.johanlm.com/warforum/viewtopic.php?t=2
Everything is hold together.

But this :
http://www.johanlm.com/warforum/viewtopic.php?t=3

Instead of a bottom scroll it breaks up the table that goes from the :
overall_header.tpl

Code: Select all

<table width="1000" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="10" border="0" align="center">
	<tr>
		<td>
<table width="950" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
  <tr>
    <td class="frame-lefttop"></td>
    <td align="center" valign="middle" class="frame-top"><span class="maintitle"> </span></td>
    <td class="frame-righttop"></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td class="frame-left"></td>
    <td>
to
overall_footer.tpl

Code: Select all

 <td class="frame-right"></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td class="frame-left"></td>
    <td></td>
    <td class="frame-right"></td>
  </tr>
</table>

<table width="100%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="footer-bg">
<tr>
    	<td height="75" colspan="5">&nbsp;</td>
   	</tr>
	<tr>

That's how html tables work. They expand to fit the contents. What are you expecting to happen? I compared the 2 pages you posted and they generate the same exact layout. There's no difference in html layout code between them.

Yeah...he changed the posting on his forum. In the original posting he had like 20+ x's all together which would break the layout. Resizing pictures would not have helped that situation.
