PHP Include Not Working in the Templates

Post by Amphian »

I'm having a problem with editing the templates, and I'm sure it's something simple. I need to include my site navigation above the PHPBB. In overall_header.tpl, I have added the menu as follows:

<a name="top"></a>

<?php include "../../../../navigation.php"; ?>

<table width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="10" border="0" align="center">

but the PHP include does not seem to be working at all. I double checked the path. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Amphian

Hi!
Sorry, but you can't use any PHP code in templates.
If you need to, I'd recommend CyberAlien's excellent eXtreme Styles MOD.

I just got around to installing it, since I figured I would need a block of time. The installation is incredibly easy, and it works like a charm. The only hitch I had was my not understanding that the relative paths for the includes should run from PHPBB root and not from the templates folder. Once I got that fixed, everything was great. Thanks again! :D
