Why is there a line break / space in between the above 2 lines? How can I remove that break?

Thanks

it's probably going to look something like

Code: Select all

{TOTAL_POSTS}<br />{TOTAL_USERS}<br />{NEWEST_USER}
It's likely that there's a typo close to the the {TOTAL_USERS} which is causing that info not to be displayed.
It would really be better to change the format to something more flexible.
The problem with using <br />'s is that there will be that empty line space even if there's no data to display. THe same for profile info shown on posts in viewtopic.

Probably the most semantic way would be to mark it up as a list.

Code: Select all

<ul class="stats">
  <li>{TOTAL_POSTS}</li>
  <li>{TOTAL_USERS}</li>
  <li>{NEWEST_USER}</li>
</ul>
the advantage of this method (among others) is that you could just set the <li> margins to 0 in CSS, maybe give them a bit of padding...then if one of those stats is empty, they'll just collapse and be unnoticeable.

I dont think the issue is in this location, but just to provide you with the info you requested please see below ...

Code: Select all

  <tr>
	<td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle" rowspan="2"><img src="templates/subSilver/images/whosonline.gif" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /></td>
	<td class="row1" align="left" width="100%"><span class="gensmall">{TOTAL_POSTS}<br />{TOTAL_USERS}<br />{NEWEST_USER}</span>
	</td>
  </tr>
Ive looked in several places - cant seem to locate the break ... :?

... IT looks like that, but that is NOT it ... I posted code from 2 places (sorry)

Code: Select all

<td class="row1" align="left" width="100%"><span class="gensmall">{TOTAL_POSTS}<br>{NEWEST_USER}</span></td>
There is what I am using - I removed the total user count ;)

Take a look at the phpBB index page ... they have a space as well and they are using the total count. Each variable has a break after it - only one - so I dont think this is fixable from this file.

Thanks again.

Ok - I found out what was going on - nevermind.

The coding in this file has a break before the closing column tag ... :oops: and its being displayed as another break - IE bug I guess.

Thanks.
