I don't use any expensive third party software
to design my websites.

I use notetabpro..... there is a notetab lite
which is free:

Maybe it's just me, but I like creating things
by hand from scratch, such as growing
my own veggies, crocheting, sewing, plumbing
wiring, and designing my own html and css.

Maybe the learning curve was a few months
longer, but it was definitely worth the time and
effort.

I now teach HMTL, CSS and Graphic design live
online. Something I never would have been able
to to if I had relied on some 3rd party software to
"fill in the blanks" for me.

Some good sites to visit that taught me a lot are:

I use UltraEdit for all of my text editing, CSS included. If you're looking for something more specialized, I would recommend TopStyle Pro.
