Language-dependant image

Post by Arty » Wed Sep 18, 2002 7:20 am

Hello,

I need to put few language-dependant images in overall_header.tpl.

tried <img src="templates/Test/images/{LANG}/test_image.gif">, but {LANG} doesn't work.

i know there is a way to do it by modifying php files, but can it be done without changing any php code? i want this template to work on any forum without modifications to php code.

Hi and welcome,

Is there any particular reason you cannot put them in the appropriate language directly and let the members see them based on the language choice in their profile?

You didn't understood me.

I'm working on a template. In my template i want to put several images in template, but those images contain text and i want to use different image depending on current language.

Is there any variable like {LANG} that can be used in template to redirect to current language directory? so i could put there images like <img src="templates/MyTemplate/{LANG}/some_image.gif" />

edit: nevermind. found solution, but it included editing php files which i didn't want to do, but in my solution only one line should be added to includes/page_header.php so i think it won't take too much time for users to install my template (i hope they'll read readme.txt before installing template).
