[SOLVED! -thank you]]An elusive color change in subSilver

I am wanting to do a simple color customization of the subSilver style, so that all the colors match my website choices. Although what I need is seemingly simple, I have spent hours trying to do what I want and cannot achieve it, so I need the help of a professional.

The task can be described most easily with a screen capture (which I have included). While I have been able to change many of the colors (to what I wanted) I have one last area that I simply have been unable to change. I have tried in the overall_header.tpl, the index_body.tpl and in the subSilver.css. I want to change the white area (as shown in the screen capture) to C6CFDE. Where to make that simple change is a complete mystery to me. I would sure appreciate the help.

Thanks, Thatbitextra, for your willingness to take a look at this problem. This is a board I am attempting to set up. Here is the link:

I have ransacked the subSilver.css, the overall_header.tpl and the index_body.tpl, adding my color as a background in tables (bgcolor="#C6CFDE") everywhere I could find... but to no avail. This one is really perplexing to me. I would be most appreciative of any help on this.

In overall_header.tpl, change:

Code: Select all

/* This is the border line & background colour round the entire page */
.bodyline	{ background-color: {T_TD_COLOR2}; border: 1px {T_TH_COLOR1} solid; }
to:

Code: Select all

/* This is the border line & background colour round the entire page */
.bodyline	{ background-color: #C6CFDE; border: 1px {T_TH_COLOR1} solid; }

I tried that (I had already changed that, but I did it again for test purposes) in the overall_header.tpl ... but, for me, making changes there in that line has no effect on the page. I even changed that to yellow to test it and it didn't show any changes..

http://samredman.com/forum (as you can see... no changes).

I edited in ultraedit and transferred it over with Total commander overwriting the existing subSilver.css.

I then made the same change in the subSilver.css (that same line appears there). It is obviously now there (with those changes) on the server end, where it should be, you can download my subSilver.css and see the change here:

http://samredman.com/forum/templates/su ... Silver.css

Does the css autoload when I refresh? I tried that with still no effect. I tried logging out and logging back in. No effect.

This is quite a mystery.

Try cleaning your browsers´ cache. I just had a look at the board and you´re seeing the same as me, white background is present.

It's not a mystery at all. It doesn't work because you didn't do what I said to do.
Instead, do this.

Yes it worked beautifully. I honestly cannot figure out what happened.. I tried this several times and it did not work.. then I rebooted.. and transferred everything again and it worked.

Thanks a lot... you were right, not a mystery, only mistakes on my part.
