I absolutely love the Gorbgreen style and it's the only style I've ever seen that I truly love. It is for this reason I've decided to use it on my forum.

Just one slight problem... When posting a reply or a new topic, or filling in a text box such as the title of a topic, etc. The background colour is either too light or too dark (I haven't made up my mind yet). Basically I can't really see the cursor. People are having trouble seeing the cursor when they are typing.

You see, when replying on this forum (phpBB support forums); in the area where you type your reply, the background is white and and cursor is black. On the Gorbgreen style, the background is a kind of pale green and the cursor is a grayish colour.

Could you please talk me through the process of changing either the colour of the cursor, or, the colour of the background where you type the text.

Many thanks in return if you choose to help my small community.

Hi Ice :)

Ok You can't change the cursor as far as i know but if you look in the gorbgreenII folder for a file called. "GorbgreenII.css"

You can open it up in a text editor, notepad will do the trick.

Once you have it open look for the following.

Code: Select all

input , textarea , select {
color : White;
font : normal 9px Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
background-color : #5A8A8C;
border : 1px solid White;
margin : 0;
padding : 1px;
}
Where it says - "background-color : #5A8A8C"

Change the "#5A8A8C" to a differant value for a differant colour. For example #FFFFFF is white:)

Small Question. Will you be updating this Style for the release of phpBB 2.2?

I would very much like to continue using this Style.

But i hope so yes! :)

Is there a way to remove the GorbGreenII image/logo at the top?

Just remove it or replace it with your own?

To remove it without replacing it with another logo you'll need to use the PSD that comes with it. Export the slices without any text and replace the logo.gif with the new new you've made.

Pretty much the same thing with making a replacement one. If you don't have photoshop I can do it for you.

Well I wasn't expecting a reply that soon. Haha. But thanks.

I managed to remove it and didn't do it the way you said at all :roll:

Open...

Code: Select all

templates/GorbGreenII.css
Find...

Code: Select all

#head-logo {
	background-image: url(images/logo.gif);
	background-repeat: no-repeat;
	background-position: top left;
	height: 86px;
Replace with...

Code: Select all

#head-logo {
	background-repeat: no-repeat;
	background-position: top left;
	height: 86px;
Basically, I removed this line of code...

Code: Select all

background-image: url(images/logo.gif);

And... one more thing (another problem).

I used to have the Acid skin installed. I also have few modifications installed one of which being the PM log mod. With the Acid skin, this mod was working fine. As soon as I set the GorbGreenII skin as default, the PM log mod no longer works but comes up with this error...

Code: Select all

Template->make_filename(): Error - file admin/admin_priv_msgs_body.tpl does not exist
How can I sort/fix that?

Edited...

Managed to sort it myself. The modification required two files to be placed in the templates/admin folders and I had only put it in the Acid one (default at the time). I've now put the two files in the templates/GorbGreenII/admin folder and it works :)

Yes, grammatically and technically. It did however make perfect sense to my brain.

One method meant using a new image with new logo imagery, your own text etc. The other meant just removing the text but leaving the background image.

The answer i gave you, even had it been understandable, was redundant anyway. As it was based on the assumption that the logo.gif contained part of the graphical border round the board. The top left corner. It does not.

The HTML construction I had in mind was for another of my templates not this one. Where removing the image through CSS or HTML would have left a gaping whole in the design. Part of the graphical border round the whole board missing.

Given the theme I was considering was the wrong one. The solution you used is obviously the perfect and correct one.

So long story short, I made a few mistakes, sorry. Glad you sorted it out by yourself. :)
