[RELEASE] subBleak for phpBB 2.0.4

Post by LifeIsPain » Thu Jan 30, 2003 11:45 am

Download and example at the bottom

subBleak is yet another subSilver clone. subBleak is a very, very gray themed style. I had this idea come up from looking at all the black styles I could see for now, and all of them (correct me if I am wrong) have contrasting color on them to be a bit more "inviting", but this didn't work for me. subBleak only has a small amount of a bronze tint to an otherwise black / dark gray existence. It also uses the fade down color at the top of each page, as can be seen in most of Daz's styles. The only other color in the site (for now) is found in the user contact images.

If need be, I can release the language images, I just haven't separated them for that purpose, but will if called upon to do.

Name: subBleak
Version: 1.00
Description: A very gray version of subSilver, dark themed

Some sample pages and the download are here

Nice, even if it's not in my taste

Thanks to both. I knew from the start that this would not be one everyone would want to use, it is (after all) very dark and, well, Bleak (as far as as the extra colors go).

NICE.

An excellent DARK theme.

Could you make varients of that with other colors?

Well, it is simply a variant of subSilver, but yea, I could change it from using the bronze highlights, it wouldn't be to hard with what I have now. What were you thinking of?

Hm, nothing in particular.

Maybe subBleakRed or subBleakBlue or stuff like that

I don't like dark styles, but if I did, this would be a good one! :)

The sample pages should be going, the host must have been down very briefly, it happens for a few seconds every now and then..

Also, if my avatar is showing, in theory, you should be able to reach the sample pages.

Yeah now they are working.

I normally like the lighter themes more (reason that I still have default theme on my forums), however I actually really like this theme. Even the logo is nice, too bad I will have to replace it :( But, I will definetely make this an option on my forums (when I get time).

looks good, but perhaps smoothing the edges of the images a little would make it look better imo..
