[SOLVED!] Changing the content of the "Users online/ Ec

Post by Super Monkey » Mon Nov 10, 2003 10:06 pm

Hello, newbie here. Hope I posted this in the right forum.

I want to change the content of the "Who is online" box, customise it so it reflects my forums mood a bit more.

Unfortanetly, I can't find the include file for it.

Does anybody know where that file is located? I would appreciate it!

I don't wish to post the link to my forum because I wan't to keep it private. I hope you understand.

EDIT: FOUND IT!

Stupid me. It was in the language folder, of course, because all of the actual text HAS to be in the language folder, so you can install other languages.

Thanks for everybodys help! :D

Almost the entire page_header.php in the includes directory is getting and setting the information for who's online and who's doing what.

Oops, I'm very sorry. I wasn't clear.

I don't want to change the table format for the Who's Online Box, I wanted to change the content inside it: In particular, have it say "Registered Monkeys online" and not "Registered Users online".

Is this text stored in the MySQL database? I'm beginning to think that the box echoes a variable in the MySQL db that has the words; I.E, "Registered Users online: $Users Online" but I couldn't find it in there either.

I'm not a genius at this kind of thing, I have my Html down, and I understand Php variables, but I have yet to explore the goodies of MySQL.

Thanks for the help you guys, but I am pretty dead sure that the content I want to change is not in those two files you mentioned. I searched through them pretty thoroughly. :?

Now I have a question that I can't find on this board.. Where is the RECORD USERS data stored?

lang_main.php contains..

Code: Select all

$lang['Record_online_users'] = 'Most users ever online was <b>%s</b> on %s'; // first %s = number of users, second %s is the date.
But where does the "%s" info come from if I want to change the value?

In the database, under phpbb_config:

record_online_users and record_online_date

I looked, under "config" that's what I have as the table name. No record_online_usre or record_online_data.
