IP adress in session table

Post by D@ve »

Hi there,
why is the user-ip stored as hex in the sessions table? Is there any security reason?

Thanks a lot
regards, Dave

Are you sure? Does a hex-number make a difference? If someone wants to hack a session, I'm quite sure converting a decimal to a hex number won't hinder him...

It's shorter? 8O

Seriously, I don't know. It's easy to convert to / from, but maybe by doing it in hex it makes it easier to check for banned IP addresses or something.
