Coding standards for Olympus

Post by juliekate » Thu Mar 10, 2005 9:44 pm

HI all,

Well I spent about 45 minutes searching the site for info about the next version of phpBB, looking to see if there's any standards yet on how my mods in development will need to be changed. I suppose there aren't any docs yet? I've even snooped around area51 as well.

Thanks for any help,
Kate

MOD Template will be the same, pretty much all that will change is you need to use what is avaliable in Olympus, so request_var(), Template System, Language files, etc.

Hi Mennonite - yes I've found that :D But I didn't see anything specifically for Olympus so I could be ahead of the game. I went to area51 and tried to search for request_var() to get more information on what was changing but I got "You are not allowed to use the search system".

I'm trying to get my toes in the water and am feeling a little lost!! I wouldn't say I'm an expert at all of phpBB's coding, but I'm certainly intermediate.

You think if I just adhere to Nate's guidelines I'll be OK for Olympus?

There is no support for Olympus at this time. I would recommend that if you can't figure out what is going on in the code then you shouldn't be playing around with it at this time.
