How to go about a switchable area in the topic

Basically I want to use the quick reply mod and make it so people can choose whether or not to see it.

I know I will need to make a sql db change to save their option, and i know i will need to make some kind of marker to show the area switched on and off, but other than that, i'm pretty lost.

Any ideas for where to progress to?

the good idea (in my opinion) would be not to have this. I bet no one elese would want this and that no-one would want to take the time to make this. this is a bad idea (in my opinion)

another sql entry would make it, in the user's pref table:

"see quick reply" y/n

so when viewtopic is called, the pref is called too:

"if (see quick reply) == yes"
show it...
else, show nothing...

hey, please, keep that kind of kiddy opinion for yourself... you're not the center of this website, everyone have it's opinion and is free to ask...

I hate to bother people, but this is the hardest part for me, could someone write a quick SQL command that would give me an appropriate new data table thing

i will look at this by tomorrow...

it will be easy btw, just add a field in the user's table, i will use a mod that already do this, the Gender Mod... it add three settings, i will add only two..

:)

for the view_topic, easy too... once it's done in the user's setting, just read the config "$userdata['view_quick_reply']" ...

just modifying this will give you the entire mod you wish to have... !
