Mod template updater/repairer/error finder

Post by smithy_dll » Sat Sep 28, 2002 11:56 pm

Hello,

I have made a webbased Mod template repairer, this is not guaranteed to hammer all the bugs out of your mod template, but it does a pretty good job with most common mistakes. If you find a mistake that isn't picked up post it here. Anyway to use it just goto

http://hosting.msugs.ch/smithy_dll/upda ... atest.aspx

and paste the mod template in the box, hit submit and it will tell you how many errors there are in it.

Ver good idea! ANd well done.

I have a couple suggestions if you don't mind:

- The official template just says Author & Description, you are correcting it to MOD Author and MOD Description. Not an issue, just for those people curios as to why they have mistakes. ;)

- I don't think it's a good idea to you use "quote" to post mods. The colors advantage does not outweigh the formatting disadvantage. I'd rather see people post with "code" than with "quote".

- Maybe a bit far off, but what would be really nice, would e sort of a diff between the original and your corrections. See this example: http://www.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?t ... did=309585 (The code for that is GPL'ed and its on sourceforge, you should be able to use it)

Keep up the good work! :)
