Hi TiTex,
This could be achieved pretty easy with a small modification to the code but the only problem is that since this mod utilizes a custom profile field your users will still be able to see the custom rank profile in their control panel since there is no way of just turning a custom profile field off just for regular members, it just wont show their rank. Do you still want to do this? I am at work right now so I only have enough time to post this message. If you still want this let me know and I will post the code changes later. ;)

By a few template edits, we can hide some of the custom profiles at UCP for normal users, so regular members, except admin, cannot change them.

Found a small typo in the install package.

Hi mtrs,
Thanks for the link. I guess as long as this will work only for regular users but still allow the admin and mod to still see and edit their custom profile field then I guess my code I posted below is not needed but I posted it just in case and if someone wants to use it instead. ;)

Anyway here is how to only make the Custom Rank show for Admins and Mods: Just use this code instead of the code in the xml file.

Code: Select all

<!-- IF postrow.S_PROFILE_CUSTOM_RANK -->
            <!-- BEGIN custom_fields -->
               <!-- IF postrow.custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_NAME eq "Custom Rank" -->
                  <tr>
				  <!-- IF U_MCP-->
                     <td class="postdetails">{postrow.custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_VALUE}</td>
                  </tr>
				   <!-- ENDIF -->
               <!-- ENDIF -->
            <!-- END custom_fields -->
         <!-- ELSE -->
            <!-- IF postrow.RANK_TITLE -->
               <tr>
                  <td class="postdetails">{postrow.RANK_TITLE}</strong></td>
               </tr>
            <!-- ENDIF -->
         <!-- ENDIF -->

Hello Stitch,
thank you for this MOD
Can i suggest one thing?

- To your mod add a new rank field, so, i, as an administrador, can display this information and another custom information, just to not lose a essencial information like who is an adm, or a moderator, a vip, etc, and plus, with a rank custom that users can say anything, as your mod does.

Hope you understand me

Bye

Thanks for asking that question because I forgot to mention in the install instructions that the edits are identicle for Prosilver. ;)
I installed this mod on prosilver style, we cannot say that instructions are identical. I mean, finding and trying is a bit time consuming.
So, I provide my prosilver edits, which works nice. :)

Open
styles/prosilver/template/viewtopic_body.html
Find

Code: Select all

<!-- IF postrow.RANK_TITLE or postrow.RANK_IMG --><dd>{postrow.RANK_TITLE}<!-- IF postrow.RANK_TITLE and postrow.RANK_IMG --><br /><!-- ENDIF -->{postrow.RANK_IMG}</dd><!-- ENDIF -->
Replace

Code: Select all

		<!-- IF postrow.S_PROFILE_CUSTOM_RANK and postrow.POSTER_POSTS > "99"-->
            <!-- BEGIN custom_fields -->
               <!-- IF postrow.custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_NAME eq "Custom Rank" -->
                   <dd>{postrow.custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_VALUE}
               <!-- ENDIF -->
            <!-- END custom_fields -->
        <!-- ELSE -->
             <!-- IF postrow.RANK_TITLE -->
                   <dd>{postrow.RANK_TITLE}
            <!-- ENDIF -->
        <!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- IF postrow.RANK_IMG --><br />{postrow.RANK_IMG}<!-- ENDIF --></dd>
Find

Code: Select all

<!-- BEGIN custom_fields -->
Add after

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not ( postrow.custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_NAME  eq "Custom Rank" )  -->
Find

Code: Select all

<!-- END custom_fields -->
Add before

Code: Select all

<!-- ENDIF -->
I changed the code to show the previous custom profile fields I added before.

I also tried to make memberlist_view.html profile show custom rank title, but I couldn't find the equivalent of

Code: Select all

postrow.POSTER_POSTS > "99"
this code for memberlist_view.html
I abandoned all of my mods.

Can you be specific as to what's not working? I tested this code yesterday on my test board and seemed to work fine. What style are you installing it on?

Thanks for the MOD Stitch!

Not sure just how hard it would be to do.

Is it possible to have the custom rank show in their profile also?
Viewing a members profile shows the boards default rank.

Also as mentioned before.
How about the members page? It too shows the boards default rank.

If it's to much work I understand.

By the way. I use prosilver also.

Again, thanks for the mod.

The custom rank will show in their profile as long as you have it set to show. You have to go to ACP--->BOARD FEATURES then scroll down near the bottom you will see a few custom profile field options.

As for the memberlist part, I will have to look into this.

As I wrote in my previous post, I tried this, but failed to enable it after 99 posts limit..

So, I provide my edits for any user having custom rank enabled as default.

Open
styles/prosilver/template/memberlist_view.html
Find

Code: Select all

<!-- IF RANK_TITLE --><dd style="text-align: center;">{RANK_TITLE}</dd><!-- ENDIF -->
Replace

Code: Select all

            <!-- BEGIN custom_fields -->
               <!-- IF custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_NAME eq "Custom Rank"    -->
                   <dd style="text-align: center;">{custom_fields.PROFILE_FIELD_VALUE}</dd>
               <!-- ENDIF -->
            <!-- END custom_fields -->

This edits will als show if there are any other custom profile fields other than custom rank title..
