Does this mod use the same user table for all the forums?

No, each forum is completely independent, they just share the same phpBB files.

exactly. Or you can use the same db with a different prefix, although there is a security error with that so I don't recomend it until I release the beta version that should have all of that fixed.

Sure if you want to help, I need people to test and give ideas. I need some ideas about what stats to include about each domain in the ACP.

Programming wise I need help creating the mode in the ACP that installs a new forum, mainly just figuring out how to install phpBB without manually going to the install directory. The rest of the install script I think I can get easily.

I also need help modifying the mod install file, adding css to make it nicer looking and stuff.

Anyway, those things are next on my project list and if anybody wants to help feel free to help :)

This means that one phpBB will work on two separeted domains , like :

www.coffysafa.com

With this addon you can have both domain names point to the same set of phpBB files (the same directory) but each domain name will be their own unique forum, with their own users, posts, settings, etc.

I haven't forgotten about this project. I'll be continuing working on the ACP this next weekend. If anybody can help me figure out how to write a phpBB 3 installation script, please contact me.

I want to add a button to the ACP where you install a forum on a new database. This will make the mod much more useful.

I had to take a shot break to get my file server up and running at home. That's been a pain in the butt, but it is finally working and will be 100% this week soemtime.

Version 0.3.1 is out!

If you are upgrading from a previous version do this:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
/includes/acp/acp_board.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
'avatar_gallery_path'

#
#-----[ IN-LINE BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
//

#
#-----[ DIY ]------------------------------------------
#

Upload all of the files in /root/ to your phpBB root directory.
Remove the Module from the ACP Module section in the ACP

Run the install file http://<yourdomain.com>/multi_forum_install/
Delete the install file

Follow the instructions that are in the install file. It's fairly easy now, hardest part is just uploading all of the files :D

As of now you can't actually create a forum from within the mod. I'm still trying to figure out how to do that, but there will be individual permissions for each task such as who can create a forum.
