1.0.2 has been submitted to the moddb for approval, we wont make it available for public download until it has been approved, so we will keep reworking 1.0.2 until it is approved. As it is now, there is no difference between 1.0.2RC3 and 1.0.2 so using 1.0.2RC3 for now is fine. I wont mark it as completely stable until it has been approved.

Progress right here is a list of things I would like to see:

Post bot working right
a board 3 portal add that displays the latest article in the centre.
more intergration with the phpbb software, eg shows amount of articles made by a user on memberlist_view and view topic.
Total articles in the stats box at bottom of index_page

Errr I think that's it. ;)

Requests and ideas....... errrm as requested ;)

Made this post a few days ago

Also as above, total kb on index like total topics etc..

I'd also like to be able to assign a template to certain catogoreys.. for example if you had one for stores. when a user creats a new kb article in stores the post window is pre-typed (or even better a form) so they then just enter store address, website, telephone, email, any photos, then what facalities the store has via check box? if you enter post code/zip code map is also provided??? (dont want much do i lol )

Cheers guys

The developers have now discussed the feature list for the next version (1.1.0) of the mod, and it is shown further down in this post. All lines in bold are meant to be implemented in 1.1.0. This is, as always, subject to change. Development has started now in our SVN trunk, this mean that the SVN trunk is UNSTABLE and if you want to have a stable SVN download, please use the KB 1.0.2 branch.

Feature list:
Minor:
  • Able to define category rules, articles per page, comments per page, passwordBBcode linking to article
  • Board3 Portal KB plugin (Stats, latest article, etc...)
  • Email notify on requests
  • Extend UCP with KB stats on view member page
  • Extend categories plugin to show articles as well
  • More intergration with the phpbb software, eg shows amount of articles made by a user on memberlist_view and view topic.
  • Post external articles (as links)
  • Tag Cloud plugin
  • Templatize latest articles so it's easier to customize
  • Total articles in the stats box at bottom of index_page
Major:
  • Ability to upload pdf as article (can do this as attachment already)
  • Approval of article contribution (the whole contribution thing could be done smarter)
  • Articletracking and 'who is online' support
  • Custom forms for each category
  • Extend forum bot plugin to post on updates and differ from each category
  • Extend plugin system to be able to hold middle menu (above and below content), perhaps make it easier customizeable through ACP
  • Integration of KB search into forum search (needs a complete remake anyhow)
  • Multipage articles
  • Private articles - lets users select if they want everyone to see the article or reg users or friends or could be private
  • SubSilver2 Style
  • Working converter from mini-kb to this
Best regards,

wow a lot off great functions is see in your list.

Is it possible to make the search function more usufull? I like to have it so that a user can give extra options to search for.

Example: on my forum about fish there a many fish articles. ik like to have so that user can search by fish size, country, food. So when the fill in only fish from "Africa" a list is shown with articles with fish from Africa.

I know its al lot of work to make it like that, but it can make the mod so usefull for me.

Can't you use either category searching or tag searching for this? Example:
Articles about fish from africa can go in one category, fish from australia can go in another? Or they can tag them...

Edit Fixed Reuploaded the file.
