Re: [RC] phpBB OpenID ver 1.0.1

Post by MasterZ »

I am waiting for the MOD team to approve or most likely deny this MOD before releasing the next version. Once I get the validation report I will fix it up and release it. Mostly minor changes in 1.0.2, along with the German language being added.

After 1.0.2 is released I will start to work on the issues with PHP 5.3.x.

Please note that I will not be porting any of my mods to phpBB 3.1. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

No problem at all :)

Facebook is not an openid provider. They do have their own method, called facebook connect, but since it is not OpenID it is outside the scope of this MOD.

I wish Facebook would quit trying to do their own thing and just jump on board with the rest of the cool kids. :)

The way to get rid of this problem is to edit the file includes/openid/openid_class.php. Somewhere around lines 67 and 72, you'll see $use_page defined with a leading '/' (one for ucp.php and one for openid_login.php). Remove that leading '/' and this issue should be resolved.

I wasn't aware that this was still a problem, I thought I had fixed it everywhere. :(

The problem with removing the slash is in some places where this method is called the URL does not have a / so if you remove that then you will get whatever.comopenid_login.php?.... I thought I had fixed it everywhere, but I guess not. I guess the next step is to start checking the url that is sent and stripping the slash if it is included so everything is always formatted the same. Shouldn't be too hard. :)

Thank you for reporting this.

That is just a notice and not an error. Turn of phpBB debugging and that should go away. I will try to have the problem fixed in the next version.

Mod Validation
I finally got the validation report back today, the MOD was not validated. :( I have a list of things to work on to bring the MOD into phpBB's standards and I will be working on those and get the next release done soon. I plan on committing some time on Wednesday night to this project so be prepared for another release soon. I cannot guarantee what all will be fixed in that release.

If anybody wants to help with the programming of this MOD please let me know.

Thank you,

- Jon

I am using WPU and this mod and I am getting error trying to login with my open ID or trying to register. Anyone else use WPU and have this problem?

Code: Select all

This error (HTTP 501 Not Implemented or HTTP 505 Version Not Supported) means that the website you are visiting doesn't currently have the ability to display the webpage, or support the HTTP version used to request the page.
