It's all right. I have triple checked everything. Re-added my keys, re-uploaded every single file with the package, and everyone I have edited.

I enter my facebook information, and it says my name, and has my avatar. It also pulls my username from Facebook. Once I click submit, it gives me that error.

Please check if you have uploaded the root/language/en/mods/fbconnect.php file to the language/en/mods/ folder ... it seems this didn't happen properly .. :) Let me know!
sorry i should have made that clear.. thats not my test board..

I was offering a 2nd test on "lestat70" board as you had signed up no problem, was just trying to assist :)
The problem probably persisted because the language file was not uploaded to the /en/ language folder, however was uploaded to the /fr/ language folder. Since your facebook account has English as language (I guess), the MOD automatically applied the English language (automatic language detection enabled) .. which caused the error. It obviously is important that you copy language files to all installed language folders, as you see ;)
adzyboy wrote:Just curious, I've noticed in the fbconnect.php this line:

Code: Select all

// custom profile fields, let's say there are none!
        $cp_data = array();
I take it this is for adding information to custom profile fields? If so, how would we go about doing it. I have Facebook as a CPF, and want to have "profile_url" in there.
I've also added "activities" and "website" to the info retrieved from facebook, added activities to interests ($uinfo[0]['interests'] . ' ' . $uinfo[0]['activities']) and obviously put website in the website field.

I don't have anything set in my fb profile for address, city etc.. but I do have my location in my hometown field, wondered if you might want to add that somehow.

Oh, and the avatar problem seems to be fine when linking to my account, I'll try my brothers (the one I got the error on) in the morning. Oh oh, the friends thing works too. Got my brother on my facebook, so when both mine and his fb are linked to accounts on the forum we're listed as friends on the forum :)

Sorry if I'm blagging on here, I'm kinda tired and trying to do all this at the same time heh
The Custom Profile Fields is something I'm still working on ;) In fact, Data Mapping is something in general I still have to work out completely, and if Data Mapping would be worked out, it would also fix all your other problems (hometown fields etc). This is something which may take up some time still before it is implemented in a public release .. I'm now first trying to find and fix bugs in the current code, and as it currently seems, there can now and than still occur holes ;)

Thanks everyone for your testing so far!! :D
It really is a great help in many cases! At this moment I identified one problem (Matthew's), however I cannot pinpoint it yet. Most probably it should be fixed with some try{ }catch{ } blocks or so.
Further more, I didn't really identify other bugs *yet*, if I'm right :)

Hmm, and correct me if I'm wrong: if you click through (new account? or link to an existing?) to the forum index, you aren't logged in, right?
If you later on click the Facebook Connect icon again, you again get prompted for username and stuff, and after submission, again the same thing happens?

Hm, i installed everything without a problem.
Everything appeared in the ACP,as it should ,i entered secret and api keys.
But the problem is that my forum lacks the f-connect logo on my template :D
I probably missed a step or not added something, so any advice would be great.

It doesn't log me in period. After I click submit on the page where I can specify my username, it gives me an the null avatar error. If I go back to my index, at the bottom my account IS under the newest member section. It's also in the ACP, and the memberlist. It appears as though it's just had an error, but the account was made anyway. So I try to login through the FB Connect button, and it loads for a minute, and then redirects me to the index, but it doesn't log me in.

Is that a better explanation?

Have you purged the cache in ACP, if you have check your template edits for index_body.html and login_body.html.

It clarifies the situation ;)
It does seems like a big question mark to me, I can not explain this behaviour yet. Could you maybe link me to the site where this is happening (you may also privately PM it, if you'ld like to keep the URL private)? Is your board also heavily modified?

Haha, you're always that bit faster than me :P
A cache purge should indeed do the trick, if you did the related template edits for the right styles. :)

Silly me, i forgot to purge the cache
Works like a charm :)
I can't remember the last time i installed a complex mod that worked this fine.
DeViAnThans3 ,if you would like, i can translate this mod to Croatian, which would allow it to be used in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro

Me and my community have been testing this mod the whole morning :D
So far, everything is looking good.
We have few suggestions and guestions.

1) The facebook connect icon should be put in the header, not in the footer of the template.
Or better yet, in both the footer and the header. That would improve the visibility .
For example, in very big forums, people can't see the icon if it is put in the footer.

2)When a person receives a notification on facebook about a topic replay or a new private messages, when he or she clicks on it, it will transfer her directly to the forum login page.
It would be better (if this is possible to program, of course) if the click would open a new tab, leaving the tab with facebook untouched.

3)When we link an old user with facebook profile,is it possible to set his email so that he can also receive the notifications on facebook.
I was looking for any pattern regarding this, but unfortunately, i could not find it .
this is one of the mails that people who registered via facbook got
apps+130510226507.1099115409.59719f85e496f977dc8a07b5411f5799@proxymail.facebook.com

We have also finished the translation to Croatian, so just pm me your email, and i will sent it to you.

This mod is great, so far no problems have been dected
Looking forward to subsilver 2 template installation :D

I have previously installed the mod following a French tutorial here - http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p9345815

Is it possible to integrate these mods easily?

Nice MOD, I'll probably install it on my forum.

But I think I spotted a bug on the test site.
I copied the e-mail to the e-mail confirm field without entering any password (in the account settings panel, ucp) and clicked Submit. Then, I *think* it set me a password, so I thought "oh it must be blank", but it isn't. It displays the "current password" box now, but I have no current password!
