Should the the first } in the FIND be deleted? Or is this a mistake?

Another idea on how to "remove" the subject line, too. Create another table column in Topics -- topic_shadow_title, lets say. Set the shadow_title equal to the topic_title. When you do your $subject checks, check it against shadow_title, not topic_title -- that way, when you change the subject line to "removed", shadow_title is unaffected and will prevent a re-post.

Intentional. My edit in the first part removed the opening curly brace.

I just checked and I missed it. :) I edited my earlier post to include it -- you do need to remove that opening brace.

I'm not sure if it was this mod or another one. But I think I solved the problem with deleting topics. By setting permission so the posting bot got added to the moderation queue. I just left topics I did not want posted in the queue, until a number of newer topics had been posted.

This is just a workaround, not a solution ofc.

I am looking at this mod with interest because I am using a far simpler mod (LastRSS) with no possibilities in the ACP.
I got a coder looking at LastRSS and he made the mod compare and look for already posted topics. So it should be possible to solve this.

Hello,
I´m not sure where to answer first :| and I´ll try to not miss anything to answer ...
  • Updating from previous versions is now fixed and notes about droping the original table is removed
  • Shorting the topic titles - yes, I'd like to have a look on this part of the mod, because some users complains about the length (too long can be shortened with dots)
  • I didn't tested Foulfoot's edit yet , so I can't tell if its working
  • ... I'll also think about altering the topics table (but I don't like that idea as I want this part to be platform independent as much as possible and I don't want to change phpBB's core or tables as well
  • Yes, setting permissions for posting bot user is a logic workaround - only post which you want to show will be approved, but by the logic, everything is already posted
@Holger : Hello, I believe those parts are the same in the lastRSS APBot mod as in SFNC ... Or do you have a different idea or did you make some edits in that?

Another programmer did the edits. Maybe you would like to check them out.
