I use to have installed other video MOD:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=2108222

But was abandoned, so I removed that MOD and install this one, now all videos that were already posted in my forum I see:

[video]url link[/video]

In the new posted videos works right.

For more info, if I edit a message with an old video (old= Before Video BBcode 1.0.5 Installation) and change something from the msg and send the msg again, the video appears correctly.

Thks for your hlp

You will need to reparse all bbcodes then using the support toolkit.

Hi!

With this mod you can't search for the title of the embedded video. Because of this, i've made some additions to the video.php to add a link to the video under the embedded video. But you still can't search for the video title. I think this is because of the way the video is embedded. Are there any chances to modify this mod so we can search for the video title?

Usually the site's embed code for a video would have the title listed with it, but this mod is made for ease of use. Copy the url in your browser and post it, most users wouldn't care to look at the site for the original embed code, plus it would be a security risk to allow html to be posted directly in the forums.

You just want to ask users to post the title of the video as the post title or put it in the post.

If your modification does put the post title in the post it won't matter. Everytime a video embed bbcode is loaded, which is everytime you load a post with a video. It's all dynamic, it doesn't store the code into the post.
The actual post content contains http://myforum.com/video.php?link=http: ... =videocode

The php file is executed and returns the result every refresh, it's dynamic. The actual embed code is not stored in the post. That is why it's not working.

Also your way will significantly increase load time for any topic/post that has a video and will increase your bandwidth since you are loading someone else's site on your server. So I would just find a mod that actually puts the embed code in the post, unlikely, or just put the the users put the video title in the post themselves.

Hey! I'm a film maker dude. I've installed 5 or so different phpbb forums.

I've tried to put your grand video code on 'em.
On robotsoup.com/forum it installed and worked instantly.
on aocim.com/forums it worked just great.
On forum._________.us it didn't work. (can't post the url sry)

Not working means that I'm getting the code parsed and nothing where the video should be located

I have a feeling that it is having issues with using a sub directory for a forum, or something like that.

Maybe I'm a noob and messed up on the forum install features. Is there something I should do that fixes the phpbb_root_path for this setup?

Thanks!

Could be a host problem, see the requirements and make sure the host has those enabled.

Do you see a video when you go to

forum.____.tld/video.php?link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lyUNs7eNhs

Check ACP > General > Server Settings

curl and fopen() are enabled.

I received a white page from your link the text window.document.write(''); and the video inside that statement. I'll watch it later. Looks like a cool video.

However, my forum is still parsing the links into nothin'.

My server settings are
force server URL settings : no
Server protocol: http://
Domain name: I've triend forum.mysite.us and mysite.us - no change
server port: 80
Script path: /forum -- on my webserver, the script is obviously in public_html/forum --

I'm pretty sure I've had this same problem on a different install in a forum.website.com setup.

Also, thanks for your help!

I came close to going postal today.

I have used this excellent mod on 4 forums. It's easy and it works the first time every time.

We just transferred all our domains from Media Temple (a pox on their house) to Host Gator.

Transferring the forums were tricky due to the large database and crappy ISPs here in the Dominican Republic. None of the videos worked on any forum after the transfer.

I looked for corruption in the files. Nope. Re-uploaded the files. Nada. Blank space in posts.

I read all the pages in this thread and about choked when I saw that Host gator was an issue. I called Host Gator tech support and after some trials and conversation, he enabled CURL and whitelisted mod_sec rule 1234234.

Bingo! Worked perfectly! However, this must be done on each site. They can't or won't do it for a whole reseller account.

Happy Camper now...
