With facebook stuff, it may take longer than expected due to bugs in their system as it all relys on their api as we are not just calling the api we are embedding it into the site. Lol. I have had to change the facebook login connect system three times since i started on it.

The longer wait the better I reckon.

Ahhh, this may be what I was going to ask about? :)

What i was going to say was that when a user posts a comment, it links to it via the title of the forum post which seems all good, but then links to the site url but it adds parameters on the end like below which means a redirect to your home page whatever that may be.

Is that what you were looking to fix? 8-)

Code: Select all

http://www.volksdevil.com/?f=8&t=578
The above should look like:

Code: Select all

I just tried using a canonical url setup, but no joy there :( I'm probably misunderstanding something obvious. I do use canonical on my forum btw.

The below only works for the first link posted to facebook, and not the second link which includes the site desc/title.

Code: Select all

<meta property="og:url" content=<!-- IF U_CANONICAL -->"{U_CANONICAL}" /><!-- ELSE -->"{U_INDEX}" /><!-- ENDIF -->

Remove the og:url from the meta data and u will be fine. The href in the comments system will set the url. The og is overriding that url.

Code: Select all

		'FBCOMMENTS'     => ($forum_id == $auth_role['forum_id']) ? '' : '<div style="display:inline;"><fb:comments href="' . generate_board_url() . '/viewtopic.php?f=' . $forum_id  . '&t=' . $topic_data['topic_id'] . '&p=' . $row['post_id'] . '#p' . $row['post_id'] . '" xid="' . $row['post_id'] . '" numposts="' . $config['fb2011_comments_numposts']. '" width="' . $config['fb2011_comments_width'] . '" publish_feed="' . $config['fb2011_comments_publish'] . '" /></div>',
that is mine in viewtopic.php. It works everytime.

Then you would just put {FBCOMMENTS} any where you want in viewtopic_body.html
I wont elaborate any further as this is not fb2011 thread. I will have to go over kber's code to see what the prblem is.

I'm lost looking at that code lol :D

The comment system mod looks much more simply set up.

You can see an example of the problem here. If you look at the 3rd (at time of this post) wall post titled 'Volksdevil Volkswagen commented on www.volksdevil.com on Volksdevil Vw Forum * new v5.

Hovering over the www.volksdevil.com it links correctly to the post on my forum, with the parameters and viewtopic folder.

But hovering over the Volksdevil Vw Forum * new v5 the link is missing the forum and viewtopic folder. :(

Edit:Wondering if this in viewtopic.php can be tweaked...Mmmm.

Code: Select all

// phpBB3_Facebook Comment System
	'U_FB' 	=> generate_board_url() . "/viewtopic.$phpEx?f=$forum_id&t=$topic_id",
	// phpBB3_Facebook Comment System

Facebook 2011 comments addon enables the admin to change the params within in the comments system in the admin panel.
Indeed Facebook 2011 comments is doing the same as phpBB3_Facebook Comment System. I will work on this right now. And pass it on to kber. I am waiting for facebook to reply to my question about getting the moderation and settings pages to be available via ajax get. If this happens then I will pass on to kber to put some new code into this mod for that fact because atm the new comments system is very buggy. The complaints, errors and questions are plentiful in the developer forums on facebook with no answer insight.
