Any help or suggestions as to why it is not finding,

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /fb2011/fb2011_connect.php on line 42: require_once(../facebook_app/php/facebook.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
facebook.php?

I am curious as to why it is not jumping to the root directory and then in to the specified directory, I don't really know what to use for phpbb_root as ../ should work :(

@ keitzy
In acp_fb2011.php you have "fb2011_fb_show_loaction" in lines 269->271. I changed in my file to "fb2011_fb_show_location" and now the radio button in the control panel works normally.

Where is the .htaccess file located to do the first edit? Is that supposed to be in the root folder?

Yes it is.
The whole mod is based on the new system facebook uses.
It uses the new facebook php SDK, it uses code from their own document system and it uses the new Facebook JSDK.
That was the whole point of me writing this mod for the fact that no other mods used the new system.
Once again facebook have let me down and I am really thinking strongly of not dealing with them.
These latest emails from them are just not cool.
I will go through all of my code.
If I find not one bit of old code from the legacy rest api then I will not pursue development with facebook any longer.
They let rogue applications through out facebook to spam and steal user idendities but honest application developers get banned or no approvals and get warnings for no reason at all.
Sorry for the rant but I have just had enough of dealing with the facebook developer platform.
I have been waiting for two months for them to respond to the bugs i have submitted and fix seriuos errors in their documentation.

Below is an email recieved from facebook developer. I'm sure it's not april fools day.
facebook

Dear Developer of Damien Keitel Phpbb Mod Development,

Our automated systems have detected that you may be inadvertently allowing authentication data to be passed to 3rd parties. Allowing user ids and access tokens to be passed to 3rd parties, even inadvertently, could allow these 3rd parties to access the data the user made available to your site. This violates our policies and undermines user trust in your site and Facebook Platform.

In every case that we have examined, this information is passed via the HTTP Referer Header by the user's browser. This can happen when using our legacy authentication system and including <iframe>, <img> or <script> content from 3rd parties in the page that receives authentication data from Facebook. Our legacy mechanism passes authentication information in the URL query string which, if handled incorrectly, can be passed to 3rd parties by the browser. Our current OAuth 2.0 authentication system, released over a year ago, passes this information in the URL fragment, which is not passed to 3rd parties by the browser.

Please ensure that you are not allowing this data to be passed immediately. Accessing your site as a test user while running a HTTP proxy/monitor like Charles or Fiddler is the best way to determine if you are allowing this information to be passed. If you discover the issue, you can do one of two things:

1. Migrate your site to use our OAuth 2.0 authentication system. We are requiring all apps and sites to update to this mechanism by Sept. 1, 2011. Migrating now will address this issue and ensure that you are one of the first to meet the deadline. For more details, please see our Authentication Guide.

2. Create and use an interstitial page to remove the authentication data before redirecting to your page with 3rd party content. This approach is used by many of our largest developers today (although they are all migrating to OAuth 2.0 shortly). This is a simple and straightforwardchange that should have minimal impact on your site. For more details on this approach, see our Legacy Connect Auth doc.

Because of the importance of ensuring user trust and privacy, we are asking you to complete one of the above steps in the next 48 hours. If you fail to do so, your site may be subject to one of the enforcement actions outlined in our policies.

If you have any questions or believe you have received this message in error, please contact us.

Reading on the facebook developer forums. They have spammed this message to many people throughout the world.

http://forum.developers.facebook.net/vi ... p?id=99289

It seems every one is very confused. Way to go facebook automation bot. Let the rogue app developers prevail again and cripple the legit ones.
I submitted a support request to facebook.

In the email it states we have 48 hours to fix the issue.

In the response email it states they will reply in a week.

Here is the email I received back from facebook support
Hi,

Thank you for contacting Facebook. We have multiple resources for Developers to find support:

1. The Developer Website (http://developers.facebook.com/docs) with updated documentation and sample code.

2. The Developer Forum: (http://forum.developers.facebook.com) where developers can log on and chat with other developers about the Facebook Platform and common requests.

3. The Bug Tracker (http://bugs.developers.facebook.com) where you can file new bugs or vote up existing bugs and stay tuned on fixes from Facebook.

4. The Help Center (http://www.facebook.com/help/#!/help/?page=431) where you can read Frequently Asked Questions.

If you were unable to find the answer to your question in one of those channels, we will do our best to respond to your specific issue within one week.

If you are a user, this is not the correct channel for you. You should visit the Help Center (http://www.facebook.com/help/#!/help/?page=25) for your question regarding applications on Facebook.

Thanks,

The Facebook Team
