This mod has HUGE potential!!! There was a mod similar to this back on phpBB 2 years ago, but nothing for 3. I am really excited about this.

My only suggestion right off the bat would be to change the way predictions are entered on the "fixtures" page. Instead of a drop down menu to input each score, I would suggest a text box instead. This would allow people to enter scores higher than 9 and would make it instantly compatible with many other sports that have higher scores. Like basketball and American football... I would suggest allowing up to 3 digits to be entered.

I think you need a main tab to separate leagues/sports. So when you go to the main Sportsbook page, you select the league you want to participate in. There may be one for soccer, another for baseball, one for basketball. Whatever it may be. Then under each league/sport you would have a home page, fixtures page and results page. This allows you to separate everything.

The way it is set up right now I could have a league for baseball and basketball. But there is no way to separate them. The totals for both would be on the home page and there is no way to see how people are doing in one sport compared to another.... See what I am getting at?

The values for the dropboxes will be defined in ACP. Even the increments can be defined, if a sport may increment in 5's like 5,10,15 etc... then that will be possible.

Yes, I understand perfectly what you mean. The Sportsbook will probably be removed from the UCP and be integrated into a control panel of it's own, with each tab dealing with each individual sport.

I see.... I just thought it would be easier to have a text box for the user. I can't imagine having to scroll through over 100 numbers in a drop down if you are predicting a basketball score of 112 - 107.

Moving it out of the UCP sounds like a good idea to me.

I hadn't thought of that. Yes, I agree we will need a choice for sports that have scores in the hundreds.

Just a note on the scores... It's probably better to leave it in a drop-down-menu than having a text field. If you have a text field then you leave open the possibility for members to enter characters that shouldn't be entered.

Also, it doesn't matter how long the drop-down menu is because you can still type the number (as long as it's in the list) and it will be valid

First development release now available:

Sportsbook Lite ver. 0.0.1-dev

It has been decided to develop a "lite" version of the mod initially. This version will concentrate on a prediction system that allows for only sports that involve 2 teams competing like soccer or rugby etc...

Once we get initial bugs sorted and vital feature oversights added, I'll code the league table system.

Please upload to your development test servers and thoroughly test if you can.

It was me who wrote the sportsuite mod. This new mod is a complete rewrite of that mod.
